The only thing I found disappointing was that I do not think the whole book is on the audio because she talked on "The View" about her great love affair with a very influential black man and others, yet in the audio, there is nothing listed about any great affairs.
Thinking because it was a classic, it would be a good audio for my 12-year-old son, and I had not heard it before. We stopped listening - as a fault of my own, I did not realize how the story was written. I would not suggest this for an adolescent unless you get the unabridged because of the language used during the time the book takes place.
My son and I listened to this on a long car trip and it kept his attention the entire time. I enjoyed it so much, I bought the other books of the series for him to enjoy!
