For fans of Tina Fey and David Sedaris - Internet star Jenny Lawson, aka The Bloggess, makes her literary debut. Jenny Lawson realized that the most mortifying moments of our lives - the ones we'd like to pretend never happened - are in fact the ones that define us. In Let's Pretend This Never Happened, Lawson takes readers on a hilarious journey recalling her bizarre upbringing in rural Texas, her devastatingly awkward high school years, and her relationship with her long-suffering husband, Victor.

    D. S. Smith says: "How the Bloggess almost made me crash my car!"
"Like a time released capsule of disappointment"

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I was very excited and hopeful about this book. I tried so hard to like it up until the last hour when I couldn't take it anymore and had to abandon the book for anything else.

What could Jenny Lawson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The stories are generally entertaining but Ms. Lawson's writing and narration sounds like a 15 yo girl going off on various tangents trying very hard to convince everyone around her that she is funny.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Annoyance, buyers remorse.

    Any additional comments?

If you like to listen to vapid teenage girls tell stories this is the book for you.
