This was "OK" I didn't mind all the military stuff and thought that sort of set this story apart from other zombie books but I would have liked to see these guys use their military expertise to actually try to survive. The whole book was about how they just couldn't accept what was happening and it got to be a little frustrating. A better zombie book with military references is by far Day by Day Armageddon and the sequel Beyond Exile by JL Bourne. There just didn't seem to be much plot past going from one street to the next... it was a bit shallow and two dimensional. Could have been so much better but not a total waste of a credit either. You can't completely fail when a zombie hoard are taking over a major metropolis, for those of us who love these zombie stories that is half the storyline requirment right there. So three stars for somewhat entertaining but think the author really missed a lot of great opportunity to write a 5 star story.

I loved this story. It seems like it is hard to fine something that is really unique and interesting but this story delivered! I thoroughly enjoyed it and the two storys between the different time periods was fantastic. I am sure it helped that I love a good horror and anything with a historical twist is a huge plus for me but it wasn't just that. The narrator was great. I did not notice the intake of breath that another reviewer mentioned but I was not listening to this on my headphones either. Maybe I was just too caught up in the suspense? Note to the author: if you write up a really amazing story I don't think continual use of the F-word is necessary - just sayin'. I still gave it 5 stars because it didn't ruin it for me but I think it would have been just as good without say 50 of those.

and I LOVE a good vampire tale. The story line was BORING and predictable but what really tanked this one for me was the narration. It was HORRENDOUS!! Monotone, flat and uninspired are three words that describe the reading of this blah blah boring story. Glad I didn't spend more than $5 for this one. Even that was too much.

I am a newcomer to this series and I have really enjoyed it! Entertaining, interesting and action packed. The humor Bones brings to the story is great and the chemistry is perfect. This series is much better than Vampire Academy but based on some of the steamy scenes, I'd say for a bit older crowd. The only reason this is getting 4 stars instead of 5 is the narrator. She's a bit high piched and squeaky at times and sadly she doesn't do much for Bone's but his personality shines through her annoying narration.
