Kevin flyer gives historical fact about our Constitution. he tells little known facts in an interesting way. He covers every part of the Constitution and really captures your interest with the way he tells the story. I listen to this over and over.
Reading this book was for the most part a fabulous experience. I love the way she told such a well entwined story with so much humor and description. The narrator is one of the best I've ever heard. She really really makes the book come alive. The only thing I didn't like was the ending. It felt as if the author suddenly had to rush off to the bathroom so she just ended it as quickly as she could with very little thought to the quality of the rest of the story.
Each character is sound and believable. The dialogue fits each person and gives each one his or her own color and shape. They embrace you with their knotty lives.
Not sure, but he is superlative in this book.
I would take Victoria because she is such a lost little girl who needs someone to listen to her.
The woman's story comes together slowly and keeps you listening out of confusion and curiosity. She makes so many interesting academic references that you may want to investigate some of the people and books she includes in her musings. The book opened my eyes about the city of Beirut and the many difficulties they have endured.
Can't think of a comparable story.
The main character , Aleah.
It's a good read.
I have not read the print version, but the audio is fantastic.
I liked Ifamelu best because she was such a gutsy lady but she also had realistic flaws.
Obenze was very memorable because of his situation in England.
I enjoy all of his books and this one is no exception. Although I may not agree with all his conclusions , his arguments are sound.
Interesting facts about IKEA
The man's voice is so calming that it's worth the listen just to hear him talk.
Less story telling and acting as if he knew what Payton was thinking. Should have stuck to a more reporter oriented approach since he had so many "unknown or unnamed " sources.
Tried to sound like Payton and came off cheesy.
Mean spirited way to make a buck by trashing someone while their family is still here to deal with the pain. Really took every opportunity to trash Connie.
The writer takes a very juvenile approach. She seems to enjoy saying words such as vagina as many times as possible as if she were 13. It really becomes silly after a while and takes away from the wonderful stories she has to share. Her voice is not one that is soothing or pleasant to listen to over an extended period of time. I hope this young woman will rewrite this fascinating tale when she is mature enough to give it the style and comedic flavor it deserves.
The stories are wonderful.
Another reader is needed and some classes on basic writing skills might be helpful. Trying too hard to be funny doesn't work well and the over use of adverbs makes the listening cumbersome.
I found the young woman likable and hope she will continue to hone her craft.
This is not easy to follow and does not capture the interest of the reader.
