Presumed Innocent brings to life our worst nightmare: that of an ordinary citizen facing conviction for the most terrible of crimes. Prosecutor Rusty Sabich is transformed from accuser to accused when he is handed an explosive case - that of the brutal murder of a woman who happens to be his former lover.

If, like me, you like to listen to books with your grandkids, leave this one alone. It is full of terrible language and other things children do not need to hear. I honestly cannot comment on the story, because I could not finish listening. It would be so nice if books had ratings like movies.

Summer 1924: On the eve of a glittering Society party, by the lake of a grand English country house, a young poet takes his life. The only witnesses, sisters Hannah and Emmeline Hartford, will never speak to each other again....Winter 1999: Grace Bradley, 98, one-time housemaid of Riverton Manor, is visited by a young director making a film about the poet's suicide. Ghosts awaken, and memories, long consigned to the dark reaches of Grace's mind, begin to sneak back through the cracks.

I read Kate Morton's Forgotten Garden and loved it. I purchased this, expecting something just as wonderful. In my opinion, this is not even close. The story is very slow, and just drags on and on. The narrator was just okay, but suitable for the type story it is, I guess. To be fair, I couldn't finish it, so maybe it gets better. I made it through the part one download, because I didn't want to waste my credit on a book I didn't finish. Finally decided I'd rather waste my credit than my time.

When their last outgoing flight is cancelled, Ben finds a charter plane that can take him around the storm and drop him in Denver to catch a connection. And when the pilot says the single-engine prop plane can fit one more, if barely, Ben offers the seat to Ashley, knowing that she needs to get home just as urgently. And then the unthinkable happens. The pilot has a heart attack, and the plane crashes into one of the largest stretches of harsh and remote land in the United States.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in "The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas". As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survived, and famously testified that her 15-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, Ben sits in prison, and troubled Libby lives off the dregs of a trust created by well-wishers who've long forgotten her.

This was the first time, and the last, that I chose a book by this author. The story was great, kept me interested. The language was hard to listen to, however. Not only the "f" word, but every obscene word describing both male and female body parts was used. Not interspersed throughout the story, but used over and over and over and.....! This author needs to expand her vocabulary. An occasional such word could be overlooked, but this was too much. If that doesn't bother you, she tells a good story. However, it was much too much for me. I will never buy anything by this author again.

FBI Special agent Brad Raines is facing his toughest case yet. A Denver serial killer has killed four beautiful young women, leaving a bridal veil at each crime scene, and he's picking up his pace. Unable to crack the case, Raines appeals for help from a most unusual source: residents of the Center for Wellbeing and Intelligence, a private psychiatric institution for mentally ill individuals whose are extraordinarily gifted.

I usually enjoy Ted Dekker's books, but this was the exception. My husband and I listened to it while traveling. It was actually hard to finish. The characters would have conversations and say the same things over and over and over and........I suggest you skip this one.

Passionate, earthy, deeply affecting, The Red Tent combines rich storytelling with a valuable contribution to modern fiction: a vibrant new perspective of female life in the age that shaped present day civilization and values.

If you like The Red Tent, try The Harlot by the Side of the Road, a recounting of some of the most startling and explicit writings from The Old Testament.

To begin with, this does not sound like an audiobook at all, but simply someone reading a book. Most offensive are the sexual references throughout a book that is based on Biblical characters. I assumed I was ordering Christian fiction. This book is most definitely not that. If there is one star on this review it is because the site will not allow me to give it zero stars.
