Cain claims that he’s innocent of killing his girlfriend six years ago, and now he wants revenge on the people who put him behind bars. Soon Maggie becomes more than just a hostage to Cain. Would you try another book from Lisa Gardner and/or Kate Rudd?

I would give a book written solely by Lisa Gardner another chance. However, the characters in this book were so very disappointing that I would not waste my credits or money on another Lisa Gardner collaboration.

Has Maggie's Man turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No.

Have you listened to any of Kate Rudd’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No.

What character would you cut from Maggie's Man?

None, I would simply make them have more common sense. From the description I just knew I would love the heroine with her sweet innocence and the hero, a compassionate "bad boy." I was wrong. The heroine was silly, just silly. The hero was disappointingly spineless. Every time the heroine made an incredibly silly demand, request, plea, whatever, his reaction was almost, "what's a person to do?" For example, she had just promised to do what he asked, be cooperative, in exchange for him stopping to help a stranded couple, when she broke her promise. He said, "stay in the car," she immediately gets out of the car. Instead of reminding her, "hey, what happened to 'I'll be cooperative?" he basically mentally shook his head. Her actions lead to all kinds of bad repercussions. At this point, I had read enough of her silly, self-centered, I'll do whatever I want regardless of the impact on anyone else. I just wasn't interested in even finding out how our hero resolved the myriad of issues he was facing. Again, these characters were such a departure from what I have come to love in Lisa's books.

Where does The Seduction of Elliot McBride rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I haven't enjoyed a book this much in a very, very long time!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Seduction of Elliot McBride?

There were too many to list, but I loved the slightly damaged Hero who was so compassionate and loving, and I loved the Heroine's unwavering love. I do not enjoy sappy hero's, Elliot was far from sappy. I cannot abide a over-the-top strong-willed heroine, one who is argumentative, misreads everything, or reads slights into every action. This heroine was not that. It was so refreshing not to have "misunderstandings" that torpedo the relationship. Loved this book!!

Have you listened to any of Angela Dawe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Ms Dawe's voice takes me a few minutes to get used to, but then it is fine. She ends her sentences emphatically, almost harshly. However, it did not, in any way, detract from the book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Definitely!
