I didn't find this book enjoyable at all - it was boring til the end. In fact if I had been reading the book I don't think I would have gone past the first chapter; all the talk about incontinence was too much, and a 70yr old mans' fondness for young women was distasteful.
All in all I did not enjoy the story...or the reading of it.
This book was more a dang love story than anthing else. I might have enjoyed it more with out the 'obligatory' sex scenes.
I found these books a little boring....tho' i listened to the entire series anyway. The narrator, to me, seemed to put the wrong intonations on words and sentences, and each story seemed to be 'finished & explained" two or three times during the reading, before a 'twist' lead into another half a dozen chapters. All in all i found them readable.
Boohoo! i can't believe I have read ALL the Posadas County books! what am I to do! These books are good stories without the seemingly necessary sex scenes of other books, they are just good straight, interesting and enjoyable reads. If anyone knows of a series in this same catorgory please let me know!
I will miss Bill Gasner very much!
I listened to the series and loved them all. They have good story lines, and the narration is "sassy" - if a male narrator can be sassy, lol. I got a lotta smiles and head nods at the comments from Danny Boyle! Would recommend this series, but read 1-7 in order...much better!
I did enjoy the story despite being disappointed that it was all really just a love story - since I found it in the Thriller section, I had expected much more... I kept imagining a made for tv movie on 13th Street!
However all in all, it was interesting and the narration was was easy to listen to.
of course it was a great story...Lincoln Child wrote it!!! He is a brilliant auther and story teller!
Great story and well read! I couldn't stop....my ears got sore from the earphones!!! Well worth the read and made me a Tess Gerritsen fan!
I love Agent Pentagast!! Is he supernatural? there is an undertow of supernatural...but all seems to be explained away ALMOST completely, but never quite!!! All Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child/FBI Agent Pentagast are hard to put down!!!!!!
I love the 'in death' series! (Just wish I could somehow read them in order!) Funny and well written and most important of all, in my opinion, the naration is terrific. Well done Susan Erickson!
I didn't mind the story line at all, but it really was more like it had been written for young teenagers rather than adults.
