A neutral capital straddling Europe and Asia, Istanbul has spent the war as a magnet for refugees and spies. Even American businessman Leon Bauer has been drawn into this shadow world, doing undercover odd jobs and courier runs for the Allied war effort. Now, as the espionage community begins to pack up and an apprehensive city prepares for the grim realities of postwar life, he is given one more assignment, a routine job that goes fatally wrong, plunging him into a tangle of intrigue and moral confusion.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

THe story line was very slow to develop and even though it is spies etc.... it seemed dark and depressing. The references to Istanbul are very accurate and the Turkish words are used well.

Would you ever listen to anything by Joseph Kanon again?

    Possibly

How could the performance have been better?

    more dramatic less monotone.

What made the experience of listening to Multiples of Six the most enjoyable?

    well written and performed

What was one of the most memorable moments of Multiples of Six?

    surprises

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

    yes

    Any additional comments?

It is like the book did not end..... there should have been other parts and there is no warning as to the need for a sequel, is there one? I found this very frustrating. It should be clear if this is only part of another book.

I liked the book until the end.

Highly intelligent but socially inept, Colin spends his free time collecting academic qualifications and searching for ways to meet women, until he stumbles upon a new technique that proves both potent and deadly. Police analyst Annabel is shocked when she discovers a decomposing body in the house next door and realises that no one, including herself, noticed her neighbour's absence. At work she finds data showing that such cases are frighteningly common in her own town and sets out to investigate, convinced she is on trail of a killer.

Would you try another book from Elizabeth Haynes and/or Karen Cass?

I found the writing crass and confusing jumping around to different people. I would probably not try another one of these books.

Has Human Remains turned you off from other books in this genre?

No possibly the writer does better at other times.

Have you listened to any of Karen Cass’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I loved the narrators job, her accent and intonations were great!

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment and disgust at all the "wanking" and other such terms found in the book.

Nate Overbay, a former soldier suffering from PTSD and ALS, goes to an 11th-floor bank and climbs out the bathroom window onto the ledge, ready to end it all. But as he’s steeling himself to jump, a crew of gunmen bursts into the bank and begins viciously shooting employees and customers. With nothing to lose, Nate climbs back inside, confronts the robbers, and with his military training, starts taking them out, one by one. The last man standing leaves Nate with a cryptic warning: “He will make you pay in ways you can’t imagine.” Soon enough, Nate learns what this means.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Want to join the “superhumans”? Luckily you don’t have to run to catch up with them, thanks to McDougall’s and Sanders’ inspiring (and motivating) journey through history, science, physiology, health, entertaining characters and unlikely friendships. Full of incredible characters, amazing athletic achievements, cutting-edge science, and, most of all, pure inspiration, Born to Run is an epic adventure.

New York Times best-selling author Dr. Pamela Peeke helps readers trim their waists, shed pounds, and lengthen their lives in her witty, tough-love, functional fitness and lifestyle plan.

Denise says: "Helped in many aspects of life"
    "partial information"
    Overall

In this program of 5 points there is a large part which depends on the exercises. The exercises are NOT included anywhere in the book as a file you can find on the internet or in any form. Most audio books handle this by offereing a link where you can at least see the information they are narrating, but with this book you are just out of luck. I contacted the web site and they just said it is the way it is. This is unfortunate since I paid full price for this audio book, just as if I had bought the hard copy. I buy books this way because I live overseas and English books are difficult to come by. I give the book a low review because of this ommission and because of the customer help at Pamela Peeke's official site. They are unwiling to try and right this wrong.
