I read several reviews prior to selecting this book that said the reader was far short of top notch. I found the book to be very enjoyable and the reader everything I expected.

Prior to downloading zero day, I read a review that said this was a poor performance for Baldacci. I disagree. I enjoyed and will continue to listen to his works. It was well thought out and the ending caught me a little by surprise.

Court Gentry is known as The Gray Man - a legend in the covert realm, moving silently from job to job, accomplishing the impossible, and then fading away. And he always hits his target. But there are forces more lethal than Gentry in the world. And in their eyes, Gentry has just outlived his usefulness. John Rain is back. And “the most charismatic assassin since James Bond” (San Francisco Chronicle) is up against his most formidable enemy yet: the nexus of political, military, media, and corporate factions known only as the Oligarchy. When legendary black ops veteran Colonel Scott “Hort” Horton tracks Rain down in Tokyo, Rain can’t resist the offer: a multi-million dollar payday for the “natural causes” demise of three ultra-high-profile targets who are dangerously close to launching a coup in America. But the opposition on this job is going to be too much for even Rain to pull it off alone.

    Yes

Have you listened to any of Barry Eisler???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Much better than the last one

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but I only listen in my auto 15 to 30 minutes at a time.

He would go to Hell.... At the Iron Mountain Home for Boys, there was nothing but time. Time to burn and time to kill, time for two young orphans to learn that life isn’t won without a fight. Julian survives only because his older brother, Michael, is fearless and fiercely protective. When tensions boil over and a boy is brutally killed, there is only one sacrifice left for Michael to make: He flees the orphanage and takes the blame with him.

I read where others really panned the female reader. I was in no way offended or let down. Many books are totally ready by one gender who represents both sexes. Certainly, you must agree that having both sexes represented beats reading.

In the latest from Nelson DeMille (author of The Lion's Game), Paul Brenner is called out of CID retirement to investigate the murder 30 years ago of an army lieutenant in Vietnam. Brenner's trip up country, with a beautiful American expatriate for company, will lead him to uncover an explosive, long-buried secret.

This is a must for those who know very little about our involvement in North/South Korea. Very good mystery that occasionally drug out a little more than I would have liked. For the most part, I found it hard to turn off and spent several extra hours in my auto waiting for a good pausing spot. Similiarities with his other books but still unique in the story line.
