I usually dislike when a series changes the narration after several books.....but I actually enjoyed the new narrators, with the addition of Phil Gigante. There was a slight lessening of the southern
I was so disappointed that they changed Adrian's narration. Not only has he been consistent for the last 6 books.......but you changed his ACCENT!! Adrian in my mind should always have his Brittish accent......and you have ruined this book for me as a result. I should ask for a refund. Had I noticed that someone else would be reading the male lines, I would have previewed the narration before purchasing......but I PRE-ORDERED the book.
This series is wonderful! I listened to this book over and over. It is, by far, my favorite series.
I liked the narration where Rose, Lissa and Dimitri were concerned. I liked the fact that she gave Dimitri the accent that the book described he would have. My only complaint with this narrator is that she made some of the side characters sound annoying....very strange voices, like fingernails on the chalkboard.
I love this series. I wish that they would have had Emily Shaffer, who reads books 4-6, read the entire series. Books 2 and 3 were a disappointment due to the fact that Dimitri's Russian accent was lost. I dislike when narrators change mid-series. You get accustomed to the characters.....then they completely change. You feel a loss of familiarity, and have to become re-invested in the story.
I love these books! I loved them so much that they hold the sole credit for making me start my audible account. 425 books later, over 2 years, and would you believe I STILL can't force myself to listen to these books due to the narration? I would LOVE to hear someone like Tavia Gilbert read them! It is a SHAME that such great books have such a boring narrator. She makes Edward sound like a wimp, and there is no real distinction between characters. Ugh.
