"Smart heroine"
Good story and pretty good narration. The narrator needs to practice her Scottish accent - hers sounded Jamaican and was often hard to understand.
"Romance with little romance"
This was more a suspense/mystery story than a romance story. Narrator did an excellent job though!
"Hate it will be another year until the next one"
My sons and I have enjoyed yet another Rick Riordan book! We love Percy Jackson and weren't disappointed with this new book in the series.
Now, as for the audio book, I can't say we love Joshua Swanson as much as the narrator of the first five books, but he does a pretty good job.
For those with younger children, my 11 yo, who's listed to all the other books, did have some trouble understanding everything in this book because the plot gets even more complicated than the one before it.
"Wish I could give it 10 stars!"
I thoroughly enjoyed this book!! I was told about it back in January, but honestly didn't want to read about such a heavy subject. Finally after seeing it here at Audible and the rave reviews everyone gave it, I decided to give it a try. Oh, what a wonderful surprise. The narrators were beyond excellent, they really brought the book to life. Best use of a credit I ever made!
"Did not connect with heroine"
I did not enjoy this book as much as I thought I would. Amanda is a spoiled, manipulative young lady and I found myself not liking her half way through the book.
"Very enjoyable book to listen to!"
I was very pleased with the purchase of this book. I looked at this book description many times, hesitant to purchase, but was not disappointed at all. It was a good story line and the narrator did a great job bringing it to life. Many times I find myself wanting to fast forward with books, to get to better parts, but never did that at all with A Loving Scoundrel.
"Love of the series gets you past the narrator"
I am an adult who bought the Percy Jackson series for her children but enjoyed the books as much as they did. I adored the narrator of the first five books, but the narrator of this new book was a bit too flat. However, my affection for the "demi-god" world and characters from the original series kept me going and I still enjoyed the book.
"Thoroughly Engaging!"
Loved this book! Plot was more complicated and unique than most romance novels and the narrator was probably the best I've ever heard.
"Nice Story"
I was pleased with the story in Ravished. You don't often find romances involving an independent, "older" - 25 LOL, less than gorgeous woman.
I am not the biggest fan of Anne Flosnik, however, and am disappointed that so many of Amanda Quick's books are narrated by her. This is the second audio book narrated by her that I've listened to and in both books, she makes the main male character sound so haughty and pretentious.
"Great Narrration"
I love all of Julie Garwood's historical romances, especially The Bride. I was very, very pleased by the narrator, Rosalyn Landor. She did a wonderful job with the Scottish accents and male voices. She definitely brought the story alive.
