Absolutely one of the best books I've read. You discover a great culture that still exists today, it is inspirational if you enjoy fitness and you find out about that shoes are the worst thing you can wear, while all the big shoe makers have ZERO science showing their benefit, on the contrary their own studies have shown shoes cause more injuries.
It's a very interesting book on Attila but as far as leadership goes there is nothing you will not find in other more thorough leadership books.
This one you have to listen and then ask yourself how you would apply what he says in today's world.
I wanted the biography of Alan Turing, now this book has his biography but well over HALF the book is just technical math stuff about the various projects he worked on throughout his life.
If you are a math enthusiast and are interested in hearing a good 7 hours of it, this book is for you.
This book is for the most part a rant on the inadequacies of medical science. If I wanted a book on that subject I would have bought one.
I wanted a book that goes in depth on how the digital revolution is making health care better.
A very negative book too, just keeps on complaining over and over.
There is not much to say but to simply get this book, a must have in any collection.
What a gripping book. Although you have to be familiar with the 80s and it's geek culture.
If you are, you'll love this book.
His D@emon and Freedom are in a class of their own and this book does not come close to being as engaing.
What it does have is a more "where we are now in tech" approach. It lives in the realm of possibility in 2012 which makes it interesting.
But it drags on too much.
Had it been 1/2 as long it would be worth 4 stars.
Anyone who knows anything about technology HAS to read this. It's amazing how close to our time the book is technology wise.
America (The Book) was an excellent book but this follow up is a total dud.
I just finished this book for a second time and it still remains among my all time top 5 books.
There is something about hearing this man's life that just speaks to me. He did not do anything grandiose but what he did do he did it in a grandiose way.
Amazing biography and some morale common sense lessons.
