... and guess what? they weren't - this IS a 5* listen and I too was mesmerized by the slow build-up, the emotional issues, the depth to the characters, the unwavering chemistry between Jocelyn and Braden, the sex scenes and all the debilitating drama that unfurls along the way. Braden Braden Braden you will always hold a piece of my heart for seeing beyond, for holding on and for being you.

Thank you Samantha Young for creating such intense characters and I look forward to visiting them again soon when I next take a walk down Dublin Street.

Worth a credit? A well narrated well written compelling and complex love story that drew me in from the start and kept me clinging on to every chapter.. so YES v e r y creditworthy.

This is my first Samantha Christy book.. but it definitely won’t be my last because this was phenomenal writing.. and phenomenal narration too. Charlie and Ethan’s rollercoaster romance hit quite a few emotionally torturous road bumps, side swipes and dead ends along their journey to the land of HEA’s but I savoured, I craved and I devoured each addictive chapter.

Charlie and Ethan were emotionally broken by their pasts but Samantha Christy skilfully navigates them through a hurricane of hurt, revenge and pain into much calmer waters. But then she creates a tsunami of feels when she drops a ticking time bomb into the plot that has the potential to devastate, destroy and completely change lives.

Their love story is broken into two Parts - one from Charlie’s POV and then one from Ethan’s POV as the story, and their romance, continues to bump and grind along. While they push and pull, reject and recover and dance with danger their relationship, feelings and footings grow. And, as they slowly get to know each other, there’s sex, passion, some humor and some sadness too because this couple’s closely guarded, pain-filled, heartbreaking backstories are ones of abuse, tragedy and loss.. but their futures.. if they let them, could be filled with joy.

Worth a credit? Absolutely.. and the secondary supportive characters from the Mitchell Sisters series who’ve all met, gone through unknown drama and eventually married their soul mates will be getting my undivided attention next. I just hope the narration was as good as this one.. because it’s as good as it gets.

Greyson Ratcliffe. I met him at 16, the hot new guy sitting on my jetty, an aspiring artist just passing through. He was my first kiss and my first love. I wanted forever with him. I didn't even get a year. Five years later, I'm a budding writer who scripts stories of love and struggle, the good and the bad and the ups and the downs. He's a star on the rise - his wicked talent and crazy good looks have his face plastered on countless magazines. We move in two different worlds and still our paths cross again. We're older and wiser and as crazy about each other as we were as teenagers.

For me, the release of a new audiobook written by the talented L. A. Fiore is always very very tempting.. but when that book is narrated by Aaron Shedlock and Tracy Marks I start to mentally chant (and maybe even out loud too) “gimme gimme gimme”. And my anticipation and excitement grows as I click my way through all the buttons to make this baby mine because I know it’s going to be an epically awesome listen. And these three artists didn’t disappoint.. L.A. Fiore has written a sweet, nicely paced, dual POV story of love at first sight between two endearing teens.. but sadly it couldn’t last long because ambitions, goals and a fast approaching end date get in the way of true love.

It then becomes a beautifully touching second-chance love story when the hero and heroine reconnected years later. But their romantic relationship carries on way way past their HEA’s to span decades because Ms Fiore was far from finished with this humble loving couple’s journey.. or their character growth, their passion and pleasure, their challenges and their heartbreaking fallout from someone’s obsession.

Worth a credit? Yes.. it’s an emotional, touching, romantic, multi-faceted love story with a tidal wave of feels, it’s got a droolworthy sweet Irish hero, a heroine with a beautiful yet damaged soul.. and it’s filled with wonderfully supporting secondary characters. This book came to life by the faultless narration of Tracy and Aaron who brought the magic that made a good book into a great listen.

The sexy beast who rocks those tight jeans like nobody's business. I'm supposed to learn all of his Dirty Laundry, his deepest and darkest secrets. Without sleeping with him. Easy enough, right? Wrong. I mean, just looking at him makes me wonder what those big, rough hands could do to me. This is my first book by Lauren Landish.. but it definitely won’t be the last because she’s written a well-paced, very entertaining, deliciously dirty and full of heart love story involving a famous music star who wants to keep his personal life private and a tabloid reporter who goes after some juicy gossip.. but gets so much more instead.

Country Singer Keith Perkins is all alpha.. he’s a dirty-minded, dirty-talking, dominant hero. However, his primary role as a famous single Dad, is to protect his twelve year old daughter from being exposed to the paparazzi frenzy and restricted life his fame would bring. And, when he agrees to a series of interviews for a tabloid newspaper because of some misleading pictures, he thinks he’ll be able to steer the interview, hide his secrets, keep his daughter out of the limelight and carry on with his very private private life. But he didn’t plan for Elise, for their instant attraction to blur lines, for their seismic chemistry to muddy the waters, for lust to bring out his dominant side.. and that Fate and Destiny would find the perfect woman for him.. and for his lifestyle.

And Elise? Well the lucky woman will be granted an all access pass to Keith Perkins the secretative Country singer. And that pass will lead to Keith the man, the bossy dirty lover, the loving protective dad, the gorgeous, sexy and talented performer.. and the person who is going to give her a sweet HEA. Keith respects her, treats her well, confides in and is guided by her.. and pushes sexual boundaries she’s all too willing to explore. However there is someone lurking in the shadows, watching, waiting and making shocking and devastating plans of his/her own which will bring tidal waves of drama to their calm waters.

Worth a credit? Yes it was a very entertaining and compelling dual POV romance of enemies-to-lovers between two well-developed, passionate, thoughtful and genuine characters. The narration by Tracy and Sebastian was a great fit for the characters, the storyline.. and me.

I thought I was going to have a major book hangover after finishing my last listen but wow.. this very addictive captivating story, and its colorful characters, quickly pulled me out of my book funk and satisfyingly submerged me into a compelling Mafia suspense/romance story.

Kieran is the Holloway mob’s assassin.. they call him Nightshade.. he’s darkness, stealth and no-one sees this cold killer coming because he silently blends into the shadows.. and his weapon of choice is a knife.. or, more precisely, knives. He, and a few close allies, have been slowly planning to overthrow their cruel manipulative evil boss and things finally come to a head in this final book in the Redemption series.. but it’s not without heartbreaking casualties. There are two sides to this handsome anti-hero.. his dark side of Nightshade and Kieran is his softer side.. but he has a broken heart after events in book 2. However, when he meets a strange ‘working girl’ called Jessica who also has a crazy side which he calls Chaos.. she’ll intrigue him, frustrate him, keep secrets, be the only person to sense him without actually seeing him and, despite their demons, she’ll throw an emotional curveball that’ll show him they were made for each other.

Jessica has had a terrible childhood and her mother’s drug use/abuse has created an overwhelming financial burden and left Jessica with few options over her life. Demons from her past, demons in her present and demons that want to manipulate her future have forced Jessica to create a carefree crazy upbeat facade.. but deep down she’s desperate for someone to really see her, to slay her demons and to save her from her nightmare life. Nightshade/Kieran might just be the right person to do it.. but between them and their HEA there’s a whole hell of a lot of obstacles in their way.

What an emotional and riveting slow-build to this love story that unfortunately ends a powerful and unforgettable three book series. It was well-written, angst-ridden, full of drama, had amazingly colorful characters, heat, heartache, passion, pain, suspense, bloodshed, some humor and challenging relationship issues as the hero and heroine had off-the-charts chemistry but zero trust in one another. I loved the unraveling of Jessica and Kieran’s lives and the development of their relationship, mutual dependency and love.. a love that would finally let the light into their darkly tainted lives.

Worth a credit? Definitely a big, bursting at the seams, YES. It’s non-stop action and the rollercoaster of highs and lows don’t stop til the bitter-sweet end. It could possibly be standalone but each book connects characters and develops the secondary plot further taking it to its final conclusion within this book. The dual POV narration is spot on.. conjuring and creating deliciously colorful mental images of the characters, their emotions, their quirks, the action-packed scenes and the suspenseful drama to life making it an unforgettable listen.

A tale of tragedy, torture, triumph and true love. Wow this author certainly knows how to write a twisted Mafia romance that takes you on an emotional, and sometimes dark, rollercoaster along with the damaged hero and heroine. Two Mafia families.. the Russian Ivanshovs and the Italian Abandonatos.. sworn enemies and, at the head of these warring families, are two very different men.

Ayla was the neglected daughter of the head of the Italian Abandonato family who’d been given to her father’s second in command the night she turned sixteen. From then on Ayla existed only as his plaything.. a tortured abused prisoner with no rights.. no life and no hope. For seven years Ayla endured nightly horrors at the hands of her fiancé - then the unthinkable happened.. she escaped.. and oh what a sweet, tortuous, heartbreaking, dark, suspenseful, swoonworthy, angst ridden, delicious and beautiful story followed over the three books. And the journey starts as Ayla is being hunted and her captors are closing in.. so, in desperation, she hides in a stranger’s unlocked car.. a car that is driven by none other than Alessio Ivanshov - the Godfather of the Russians.

Alessio is a handsome cold-blooded ruthless killer.. he’s the Pekhan of the Ivanshov Bratva.. and he’s sworn to kill every single Abandonato in revenge and retaliation for the brutal murder of his beloved pregnant mother when he was a naive innocent boy. When he discovers a dirty shy stranger with mesmerizing green eyes he puts her to work in his mansion.. unaware who she is.. and unaware that the consequences of his actions will be profound, life changing, catastrophic, euphoric, heartbreaking.. and heartachingly tender too. Because his beautiful timid sweet little angel will tame his beast.. captivate him (and his staff).. their chemistry will be off the charts.. the angst and drama will be challenging.. the effect she’ll have on him (and his heart) will be breathtaking.. and the fallout will be war.

It’s a steady climb and a slow burn to greatness as you journey through the low simmer to the high anxiety angst, the blow your circuits drama and the soul-destroying heartbreak. Through outstanding character growth as meek damaged victimized Ayla eventually turns into a loving angel and the heartless Mafia King slowly turns into a revenging saviour. There’s hours and hours of blissful well-written dialogue and unending feels as two broken people find THE one.. the one that can heal them, unconditionally love them.. and ultimately save them. This is a well-honed heart-achingly tender and touching love story of goosebumps, butterflies and sigh-worthy scenes. And, out of a turbulent sea of desire, passion, possession, understanding, violence, bloodshed, torture, compassion, betrayal, revenge, pleasure, unspeakable pain, sadness, loss and rock solid devotion, life-long connections and unbreakable bonds are forged. There’s some laughter in there too.

Worth a credit? This unforgettable dual POV trilogy, and it’s wonderfully varied characters, stole my heart.. so IMO, ABSO~FREAKING~LUTELY yes it’s creditworthy. The narration by Tia Rider Sorensen was awesome and, from start to finish, I unapologetically binged on each riveting chapter until there were only a handful of chapters left. Then I slowly drip-fed myself the last remaining few so I could savor them, wallow in the happy feels.. and bask alongside Ayla and Alessio in their beautiful, and very hard won, HEA ending.

After the first three books in this awesome series about Buttons and Crow I really didn’t think I’d enjoy this second trilogy quite as much.. oh how wrong I was as it’s every bit as gripping, sexy, sighworth, thrilling, descriptive and intense as the previous books. Penelope Sky’s well-paced complex romances take time to develop, her characters take time to fall in love and they take their time to reveal all the well-written emotional feels contained within their covers.

Caine hadn’t bargained to fall in love with Adelina.. but that’s exactly what he did. Adelina had been loaned out to Caine for a whole month as collateral for an arms deal. But, as time slowly slips away, Caine loves coming home to his new house guest, enjoys their talks, relishes their relationship and realizes he doesn’t want to hand Adelina back to the abusive monster who owns her. But Adeline wants to go back. she has a bff who was snatched alongside her and she’s not prepared to abandon her.. so Caine has no choice other than to take Adeline back. Caine then spends days missing her, feeling regret, heartache, guilt and frustration over the loss of the woman he realizes he loves.. until he finally snaps and declares war to get his woman back. But it wasn’t going to be easy, it wasn’t going to be without bloodshed and it wasn’t going to be a walk in the park with Adelina.. because Caine was going to have to work hard for their HEA ending.

It’s not as dark as the Buttons story but it’s just as addictive. I do think narrators can either make or break a story.. and thankfully the story was in good hands with these two wonderful narrators whose talents brought the story and characters to life. Four different POVs, Buttons and Crow were front and centre at times and very much in the forefront of the story along with Adeline’s and Caine’s.

Worth a credit? Yes, it’s a binge-worthy epic series overflowing with drama, angst and feels.

Brynn and Cassidy’s touching love story was all I hoped it would be.. a totally entertaining five star listen. It’s got a sad start which turns sinister.. but from then on it’s sweet, thought provoking, tender and beautiful. Brynn had been grieving a lost love for two years and was finally about to move on and gentle humble hermit Cassidy was a prisoner of circumstances and had retreated to a self-imposed wilderness prison. They found each other and slowly healed one another.. but Cassidy had a painful secret - one that shaped his entire life, restricted a relationship and enforced an end date.

The story could’ve been great, the characters awesome and the romance challenging.. but I’ll never know because, for me, the narrator was a bad fit and I only managed to make it to chapter six. IMO with these dual POV biker stories you really need a male voice, to choose a female narrator who can pull off decent male voices and to pick ones who can make the dialogue sharp, make it flow and make it badass too.

Worth a credit? Maybe listen to the sample first to see if it’s a problem for you.. but for me personally the answer is a NO it didn’t hook me in, it wasn’t an enjoyable listen and its not creditworthy.

Yes I happily binge-listened to this trilogy.. from its dark and harrowing beginnings, through the torturous dangerous ups and downs of its strong heroine who had to fight and transform herself in order to survive. Pearl went from being a terrified yet feisty and fearless abused slave - to becoming someone else’s pampered yet stubborn plaything called Buttons. From book to book I devoured each riveting chapter as they slowly revealed how Buttons shocked and impressed the dangerous and emotionally closed off Crow. I revelled in Buttons hard won bitter-sweet taste of freedom and her attempt to move on.. but I anxiously waited with baited breath for her bossy alpha to wise up and follow her to NYC. I rejoiced at their touching marriage - unaware that the rollercoaster that was their lives had a few more white knuckle twists still to come.

Penelope Sky has delivered an outstanding dual POV trilogy that slowly goes from dark to light.. it’s chilling and thrilling.. it’s fierce and frightening.. it’s hot and heavy.. it’s sinister and sentimental and it’s tender and touching too. The character growth is also outstanding, as is the descriptive writing style and I frantically jumped from one book to another in eager anticipation that these two wonderful characters would eventually get their much fought for HEA ending.. which thankfully they did. And now I’m excited to start Crow’s brother Caine’s story.

Worth a credit? If you like dark dark love stories that are awesomely narrated then a thousand x YES.. and I’ve happily just spent another three credits on the continuation of this series.

The first time I laid eyes on Lydia Decker, I couldn’t speak. Or breathe. Or string two coherent thoughts together. And I don’t mean any of that figuratively. No, when I first laid eyes on Lydia Decker - my physical therapist - I was lying flat on my back in the ICU, high as a kite on painkillers, breathing on a ventilator, my bones as broken and splintered as my spirit. She said she’d been assigned to fix me. But what I didn’t know...what I couldn’t possibly know...was that Lydia Decker needed fixing far more than I ever did.

In the past Lauren Rowe has thoroughly entertained me with her stories about the loving Morgan men, their sibling dynamics and the tight loving family they, and their parents, make.. but wowee this emotional journey was another step up from just being a 5 star story. Her plots are always filled with awesome interesting characters, great dialogue, smooth banter, sigh-worthy scenes, seismic chemistry, humor, feels, sex, passion, droolworthy heroes and worthy heroines. They’re also peppered here and there with some drama and angst too. But the main ingredients coursing through each and every layer is physical attraction, lust, respect and love.. and, with this story, Lauren went BIG then maxed the Hell out of it.

It was two people’s very emotional and touching journey to the HEA and the challenges they faced together in order to stay together. They had enduring hope, deep understanding, patience and determination to get it right.. and, when their patience finally pays off, there were fireworks, romance and tender rewards. There’s all of my personal favorites here.. sweet, savory, sexy, sizzling, smouldering, sensual, swoonworthy, savvy, serious, scrumptious.. and so much more. Plus the variety, dynamics and interactions of the likeable secondary characters brings smooth quick witted banter, brings family values and brings feel-good feelings of a loving tight family.

Worth a credit? It was a delicious multi-layered emotional treat for this romance lover, the dual POV narration was absolutely perfect and the storyline gently unfurled to reveal a sparkling gem. Colby and Lydia have both been to Hell and back and their story back and then forward (IMO) is the epitome of a great romance.. and YES definitely creditworthy.
