Very enjoyable Regency romance as the storyline immediately sucks you into a dilemma as Viscount Radford is instantly attracted to his tenant May (alas a nobody) but his duty (and Mother) demands he weds. He is forced to court a 'proper' Lady but the sparks just aren't there.
Interesting likeable characters, a well written story that captures the time period, no sex, plenty of romance but a very quick ending and epilogue.
Worth a credit? Definately and I will look out for more of D.M.'s books.
This follows on from book 1 Trust Me and Allison and Damien are happily engaged but for how long because there's so much against them... his dark and dirty past is revealed, there's a bitter ex girlfriend, a manipulative Mother and a Murderer and somehow they must stay strong.
There's a lot of great chemistry, passion, romance and loving in this listen as Damien is so thoughtful, caring and deeply in love with Alli and she has to be understanding, supportive and forgiving to reach their HEA. But there's a Stalker/Murderer loose and his next target is Alli so there's a lot of drama, mystery and suspense trying to work out just who, out of the many characters, the Stalker is.
Very enjoyable BUT Alli's constant use of the word "Ug" and "My Mother always said" got annoying and she sometimes acted a bit young and naive however Damien's perfect sexy Hero character more than made up for this (yes, I'm that shallow). There was 'news' at the end that should've had a chapter of its own which would have made me happier.
Worth a credit? A very entertaining mystery romance and YES, IMO, a creditworthy listen.
I don't usually buy, or like, short stories but this packed so much drama, angst, humor, romance, passion and sex into such a short listen that Thea, you must be congratulated on producing another awesome listen about the very much loved characters from previous Elder Races books.
Dragos, Pia and Peanut (aka Liam) are a close family unit and, in this listen, when Pia has to fight so hard for Dragos, you really feel the love between them. Great descriptive scenes and a 5 star Narrator brings the whole thing to life.
Worth a credit? At just over $10 I bought it, but I would have happily spent a credit on it.... even being this short. So don't look at the duration time - just go ahead and buy it because you won't be disappointed.
As I happily indulged myself well into the wee small hours of the morning craving each and every chapter, I thought it was like having a box of my favorite chocolates as I kept mentally saying "oh just one more" over and over again until sadly, before too long, I'd devoured the lot. Yup, I knew it wasn't good for me.... but they were each just soooo yummy.
As Daniel and Hayley's rocky, up and down, intense love affair continues there's more heartbreak and shocks in store for them. Luckily Hayley had her two best friends to support and bring humor to her through each devastating step and they both had sub romances of their own too.
Even better than book 1. There's character growth as, through each bitter challenge, they realise they just can't survive apart, it's very romantic, touching, intense with lots of needy but mild sex scenes and had a few shocking twists but the end result is a HEA and a lovely Epilogue.
Worth a credit? Well written and narrated, a bit rushed at the end, had some flawed but loveable characters who I'll miss, the sex could've been hotter but the romance, gulp and wow, that was off the charts! And, as I reflect back over this enjoyable roller coaster two book ride, I know it was 2 credits well spent.
This book has it all.... excitement, mystery, thrills, suspense, bad guys, a Team of good guys, passion, romance, sex, a three legged dog, a MC Club and a drool-worthy handsome Hero with guts, compassion, a tortured past and a downtrodden Heroine and her Sister that desperately need saving. There's also more groundwork done to put in place a great Team of disgraced Special Forces men ready to right wrongs, get justice and clear their names and, if they can help a frightened and threatened woman along the way, then they're happy.
Their covert Mission (from book 1) has entangled them with powerful enemies who are involved in drug and human trafficking, kidnapping and torture but these hunky Alphas are kind and caring too and are more than capable for the job. But when Shane stumbles across Crystal she haunts his thoughts and he vows to protect her... no matter the cost.
Very well written and the narration was perfect.
Worth the credit? It's action-packed, edge of your seat exciting and thrilling with secrets, a brotherhood of great characters, passion, sex and a tender romance which all adds up to a very creditworthy listen.
This is book 3 in GS's Atlantis series where, in the mythical realm beneath the sea, there are three Kingdoms..... Dragons, Vampires and Nymphs and it's where a whole host of other weird and wonderful creatures live. There are alliances, hatred, friendships, wars, portals and lovers but overseeing it all is the mighty vengeful Poseidon. They could each be stand alone listens.
The handsome Nymphs need sex all the time to keep their strength up but the Dragons have stolen their females so they are forced to steal some Human women and that's when the trouble starts for Valerian, King of the Nymphs when he locks eyes with his mate.... Shaye.
It's fun, fantastical and there's a lot of bantering, humor and angst between the H/H when Shaye doesn't want to instantly drop her panties and stay with the super sexy and gorgeous King so, for the first time, Valerian really has to work hard for it. There's also sub plots involving the Dragons, Vampires and Poseidon and a secondary romance. It's filled with great characters and GS's imagination at world-building is awesome and the Narrator did a good job coping with all the many different voices.
Worth a credit? This is a entertaining, light and enjoyable fantasy romance with a couple of sex scenes between two very likeable main characters. I've listened to the whole series now and have loved every one so, YES, a very creditworthy addition to the series.
This is the 3rd book in the Angels Of The Dark series about charismatic Winged Warriors who travel between the Natural and Spirit Worlds fighting Demons, making enemies and falling in love and technically it follows on from GS's brilliant LOU series but each book could be stand alone listen.
Thane is one of the Winged Warriors and he has been captured and held as a sex slave by an evil Phoenix woman until he is rescued by a quiet, gentle, abused human slave called Elin Vale but she has a terrible secret that could destroy their budding relationship. He has to battle his enemies, his mental Demons from the past and conquer his hatred of all Phoenix or lose the one he loves.
Thane is a great Hero, he's kind, loyal and thoughtful to the ones he loves, sexy and strong but he is also full of revenge, anger and is very unpredictable. He, and his two friends, were enslaved and brutally tortured in Hell but they survived and have a special bond which brings brotherhood and humor to the listen. And he also has some beautiful emotional words for Elin.
Worth a credit? When it comes to PNR Gena Showalter is a master craftsman at detailed world and complex character building and writes exciting plots filled with supernaturals and there's a good balance between the action, suspense and adventure and the undercurrent of passion by a nicely developed romance. There's humor, sex, edge of your seat tension and great supernatural secondary characters including a couple of Angels with sub plots of their own. Great narration as ever by Max Bellmore. So, if you're a PNR lover like me, it all adds up to a very enjoyable and creditworthy listen.
Form the Publisher's Summary (and the hot cover) this book should've worked but, for me, unfortunately it just didn't. There was no build-up.... to the relationship, to the romance, to the sex and to the whole chemistry between the H/H and so sadly I just didn't feel the love.
I didn't like the female character at all, (SPOILER ALERT) one minute she's saying I love you to her ex boss who's a handsome, sexy, hot Billionaire who's into her too and then she's left him and is kissing, and getting all hot, wet and bothered, by the other Band members. But when he phones her, missing her, she says I love you, I miss you and everything's fine..... well Hell no, no, no it's not. He's as bad, he's possessive and jealous one minute but then he fixes her up with the other Band members and himself and a quick M/M/M/F sex follows which contained the action but lacked the passion.
Worth a credit? No sub plots or dramas, no build up, no sizzling chemistry, no 'feel good' romance and no passion to the sex.... which makes this IMO a NO, not worth the credit listen. However, if you are tempted then His To Possess is book 1 followed by this listen.
Now I'll be totally honest, at the start of this listen I really didn't think I was going to like it as I had such fond memories of Hudson and Alayna by the end of their trilogy and this starts off totally different. It portrays Hudson as a manipulative, sadistic, cold-hearted, nasty bastard who, along with his Queen of Bitches friend Celia, planned the terrible hurtful scam against the vulnerable unknowing and innocent Alanya.
It doesn't repeat the story we've already heard, in touches on some scenes, but it's told from Hudson's POV and flashes back and forth in time giving the reasons and history behind why they did what they did and the devastating and heartbreaking consequences that followed after their twisted, bitter and damaged minds fixed onto Alayna for their next 'emotional experiment'. But, as the story unfolds, it explains just why they are both so emotionally broken and why they are playing with other people's lives and fills in the gaps from the other side of the story.
It's raw, powerful, gritty, terrible, heartbreaking, romantic, tender and beautiful and answers so many questions and his Proposal and the Epilogue.... well if you've loved their story, that'll have you in tears.
Worth a credit? IMHO, a MUST for any Fixed fan but be please be prepared to hate Hudson for most of the book and wait for his climactic downfall when he realises he's lost the love of his life but then you can rejoice when he lovingly puts his heart and soul into winning her back. It's so well written, emotional, tragic and bitter but it's also a well narrated story about character growth, healing, understanding, forgiveness and the unconditional power of a beautiful love. So, worth the credit..... HELL YEAH. But must be listened to after their moving trilogy.
This could easily have been a 4 star listen as it was the final book in the very enjoyable, romantic and sexy Consumed trilogy BUT, as has been said before, the narrator totally ruined it.
I just don't get it.... why spend time visualizing, writing, editing and producing what should've been a very entertaining book that had secrets, angst and a lotta loving only to then have it destroyed by the narrator. I couldn't tell who was speaking, Seth's voice, which should've been sexy, alpha and deep, sounded the same as Olivia's voice. I couldn't distinguish if things were being thought or actually said aloud and by whom. Shame on you, whoever you are that chose this narrator because you ruined this for me, for the fans and you ruined a good trilogy.... did you even listen to the book?
Worth a credit? If you're a fan of the series and you want the conclusion to Seth and Olivia's love story then you're going to get this, cringe through the listen to get to their HEA then I guess it's a barely creditworthy listen.
This listen takes place a year after the first book and finds Eillia slowly coming to terms over the brutal death of her long time lover during the attack on Bas's home and Daniel, the guilty Mercenary that led the attack who's working hard and drinking harder, is trying to drown his guilt. Both of them are drawn by fate to the same small town in Alaska where Daniel, full of regrets and haunted by the face of the beautiful woman he buried but can't forget, is in a bar trying to drown his memories when he suddenly sees that exact beautiful face looking back at him through the crowded bar..... Mmmm delicious!!
As Daniel and Eillia find themselves drawn to each other neither one knowing why there's a sizzling chemistry which leads to a much fought against great romance that's touching, tender, passionate, heartbreaking and sexy there's also plenty of action as evil Alvin and crazy First Blood Tamesine try to carry out their revenge. With plot twists, surprises, suspense and loveable characters from the previous books and some new ones too, makes this a well written new Vampire series to follow.
Worth a credit? Exciting, very enjoyable, well narrated and a listen I just didn't want to stop certainly makes this, IMHO, a very creditworthy addition to my guilty pleasure of an ever expanding list of PNR books.
