Oh.... such decisions, decisions, decisions.... Handsome, sexy, tattooed, biker bad boy and Club owner Cash or his charming, intelligent, successful, grounded and equally handsome Lawyer brother Nash. For me it was such a dilemma..... Cash no Nash no Cash no Nash (well you get the picture) but in the end I just couldn't choose and maybe the well known saying of 'if you snooze you lose' should actually be "if you choose you lose".
Cash and Nash's stories are all entwined with Olivia's as this very addictive scorching love triangle plays out and it'll have you fanning yourself with such lines like "Did you think of my lips when he kissed you". It's filled with loveable characters delivering witty banter, creating sexual tension, with a double dose of hot romance, plenty of drama, plus there's mystery and..... a cliffhanger at the end - phew, what more can a romance lover want.
Worth a credit? I would have happily used a credit for the delish, delectable, devilish Davenport twins but at $7.34 I just bought it. Now all I have to do is patiently wait, drum my fingers and watch the clock until August (hopefully hint hint Audible) for the 2nd in the series 'Up To Me' to be released which is supposed to be 'SCORCHING, INTENSE SHOCKING AND HOT' - sounds just about perfect.
Every so often I find myself drawn to a Lorelei James, Sarah McCarty book (or similar great authors from this particular genre) and woah, wee hee and ding ding this listen sure doesn't disappoint as you can clearly visualise all the drool-worthy men wearing chaps, cowboy hats, boots and spurs.
City girl Channing is running away from an overbearing dictatorial family and wants adventure so has hooked up doing the Rodeo Circuits and it's there that she meets tough talking, sexy and hot, Ultra Alpha Cowboy Cole who makes her a proposition that involves his 2 other, equally hot, travelling partners Edgar and Trevor and the rest, they say, is history.
This listen has a good plot, great characters who have sizzling chemistry and the sex isn't just hot..... it's nuclear. There's Dom/sub, light bondage, M/F, M/F/M and M/M action which was red hot but, at times, it was also loving as the four of them tried to sort out and come to terms with their feelings for one another. It also give some insight to the trial, tribulations and heartaches of the Rodeo scene which soon separates the men from the boys.
However, IMHO, I thought it needed another chapter or an Epilogue to wrap things up nicely but maybe, further into this series, we will learn more of the couple's HEA ending from all the other McKay siblings.
Worth a credit? It's a heart-stopping, jaw dropping, raunchy erotica romance which gets it's HEA but just not for all involved. It would have been worth a credit but my $10 rule applied and I saved my credit for a more expensive, but maybe not as star-worthy, listen
What a raw, gritty, rude, crude, dark, crazy, messed up, wild and compelling fatal attraction that spans over 20 years between Deuce and Eva. Then, as you listen, in helpless fascination, you witness the blossoming of a sweet tender passion and the potential for a deep love be heartlessly, heartbreakingly thrown away, corrupted and is poisoned until all potential for a HEA ending slowly withers and dies.
This is not the usual type of love story but a love story that is shocking, scary, sad and painful and it's full of bruised characters from the seedy side of life who get entwined in revenge, twists, sexual blackmail, violence, danger, kidnapping, lies, deceit, murder, rape and sex with bad language, bad attitudes and some bad outcomes.
But what a captivating, thrilling, awesome plot it is with plenty of sub plots which were all expertly described and written then the skilled narration brought the characters, and events, to life so you're absorbed in all the never-ending pain, suffering, heartbreak and loss which leaves you dazed, spun out but grateful that you endured and survived this riveting train wreck of a love story.
Worth a credit? This listen packs a punch, will have you stunned, shocked and gasping for more as you're eagerly drawn in, held as a willing captive until the very last word..... and you LOVED every torturous minute of it - so YES, another creditworthy listen.
This is a hard book to review - not because it wasn't enjoyable or entertaining, because it was but there were so many nice, handsome, thoughtful and kind suitors for Lady Jane to choose from (lucky lucky girl) that you feel so sorry for all the inevitable crushed losers but, who knows, hopefully that's how the series will continue..... with each of the losers getting their HEA endings that they so each deserve.
However, Jane's heart had already belonged to one of them for years, so you pretty much knew what the outcome was going to be and getting to that point was fun, touching and tender but continual death threats brought action, secrets, betrayal, suspicions and a heartbreaking discovery. However, I felt it was very light on the romance, passion and sex between Jane and Nicholas.
Worth a credit? Was it predictable? Yes. Did it have lots of likeable characters? Definitely. Was it a crafted well written book? Absolutely. Was it believable? Err no, I had a hard time believing that any Highland Warriors in 1679 would undertake some of the tasks set. However, it was a light easy-going Highland listen, there are better Highland Warrior books out there but, weighing up all the pro's and con's, I don't regret my purchase - so I guess it's a YES creditworthy.
Intense, addictive, emotional and yes erotic, it had me absolutely consumed and hooked until the bitter end. This listen should come with a warning - not because of it's explicit content, but because Jesse and Ava's story will take over your thoughts and your life as you become swept up in their emotional roller-coaster love life and the secrets held within.
As you're captivated by the gorgeous drool-worthy Jesse and his desperation for Ava you become torn between loving and hating him but, as his vulnerability wins out, you start rooting for him and hoping Ava will just give him a chance.
It's one of those rare listens that you just don't want it to end and when it does you're emotions are at breaking point and all you can think of is "it can't end, and not like that, I need MORE MORE MORE". Thankfully book 2 is out which I'm desperate to listen to but I owe it to my family and friends to at least say "hi" before I'm again consumed in this wonderful, tragic, passionate, sexy, gripping love affair.
Worth a credit? Oh boy, is it ever, YES YES YES.
Thanks to Dr. Alison's drastic intervention 880 finally wakes up from his coma and he's all beast and that's just how she likes him - possessive, dominant, sex starved and more beast than man and the only scent he wants is hers.
He wants her, takes her and intends to keep her but internal pressure forces the lovers apart for a while, and 880 (now Obsidian) learns to hide his possessive characteristics.... that is until their touching, passionate, sexy, climactic raw reunion which soon adds another happily claimed pair.
Worth a credit? Oh boy, I'm just a sad besotted fan of this series, and you're gonna need a fan for the hot sex scenes and this was fan freaking tastic- so fan-fare please.... YEAH, very creditworthy.
Sorry, but I just can't review one of these Grrrreat books without using the word LOVED over and over again.
I loved the sizzling chemistry between Tiger and Zandy who just couldn't keep their hands (claws and paws) off each other.
I loved the funny, quick and snappy dialogue that'll have you embarrassing yourself if you listen to this out in public.
I loved Tiger who was hot, smart, sexy, demanding, possessive but sooo romantic, thoughtful and tender too.
I loved Zandy who was a strong female and she needed to be with all the sexual demands Tiger put her through, and phewee, there were plenty of those.
I loved all the other New Species that inhabit and enrich this fascinating world.
I loved the storyline as Tiger and Zandy tried to deny the bonds that were there from the start as they just kept putting their intense attraction for each other just down to simple lust.
I loved the world-building skills as new characters are added and we get to learn more and more about just what makes the New Species tick.
Laurann Dohner has given us a fantastical paranormal world that's fraught with danger and pulse-pounding action, filled it with awesome loveable characters, cranked the heat level up to high, inserted twists villains and a crisis or two and seemlessly weaves a tormented, once tortured, Alpha New Species male who's destined to find his mate and effortlessly keeps each story fresh. So what's not to love!
Worth a credit? There was plenty of hot sex in this, but most of the drama was held back to Part 2 nevertheless another very creditworthy addition to my ever growling and growing New Species library.
Well, this is another great listen that had me riveted til the wee small hours of the morning, hanging on every chapter and hoping for that HEA 'sigh' that you get from a well written, well crafted romance and this story certainly didn't disappoint.
We all love a sexy handsome bad boy but Logan had so much to his character - a tortured life, the love for, and dedication to his family, the hurt from his Mother's death and a life that just won't give him a break. That is until he meets Maddie - a confident, smart, strong, beautiful, wild rich girl who's had the hots for Logan for years and now she's doing something about it, but the course of true love, they say, never runs smoothly and that's very true with this loveable couple that had such a great verbal rapport and Maddie gives it her all.
This was a passionate, touching, tender, sexy story but it had so much more.... a long-standing vendetta, a criminal ring, twists, surprises, suspense, sizzling chemistry, seduction, interesting likeable brothers, a double-cross and a shooting. But it was the many obstacles of self doubt, misunderstandings and family backgrounds that Logan and Maddie had to overcome before all of Logan's doubts and barriers could fall and from his sorrow, heartache, pain and the pit of despair.... hope, happiness, trust and love flourished.
Worth a credit? A thoroughly enjoyable beautiful contemporary love story that'll have you rooting for the downtrodden good guys as well as the H/H - so YES very creditworthy and I'll definitely be watching out for the other 2 brothers stories.
It's official - I'm an addict - for Tina Folsom's Scanguards and I don't ever want to find a cure as I'm happily hooked and now just waiting for my next fix. Anywhoo, back to the review:-
Poor Oliver was greatly tested in this latest exciting yet frustrating instalment and his problems begin when he stumbles across a beautiful, but bleeding, Ursula who's Asian-American and has just escaped from being held as a blood slave for addicted Vampires for years. He does the honourable thing and seeks help from his fellow Scanguards but everyone accuses him, distrusts him and argues with him and his loyalties are stretched to near breaking point as he soon falls for her but, as an ex addict, will Ursula's blood become his next drug of choice now or can he keep his fangs off her?
There's slavery, secrets, trust issues, suspense, action, twists and turns, humor, sex and, as we slowly see lust and passion turn into a touching tender love, all the Scanguards have to come to terms with the fact that little Oliver has now grown up and is capable of taking on the mission to take down the evil Vampire villain that's running the blood slave ring.
Worth a credit? Although this leaves you very frustrated and disappointed with the rest of the Scanguards Team members for their treatment of Oliver and Ursula's feelings, it's still a good (but not the best) addition to a great series... so yes very creditworthy. Up next in book 8 we finally get Thomas' Choice who we all know is Eddie.... so be prepared.
M M M I just love a sexy handsome cowboy whose bad boy ways have been transformed by the love of a good woman then couple that with time travel and an impossible ending and I'm hooked until the last word.
Jake's womanising has led him down the wrong path and he's now in jail for murder but an unknown visitor makes him an offer that's just too good to be true and the next morning Jake wakes up in a horse stall confused, wearing leather britches, moccasins and a knife, tomahawk and a Colt strapped on him. He soon finds out he's got a new job as a Scout for a Wagon Train bound for Oregon but..... it's 150 years in the past.
As soon as he sets eyes on Rachel he was smitten but she was on the journey with her drunk deadbeat husband and 3 small children but he tried hard to fight the pull of attraction and desire. The adventure was to last 5 months and in that time there were hardships, arguments, surprises, sickness, death, twists, false accusations, Indians but through it all was his longing for Rachel and hers for Jake.
This is such a well written action packed enjoyable story that sucks you in and you too feel the heartbreak, passion, turmoil and drama along with the characters and are able to visualise the campfires, characters, trails, wagons and hardships these brave pioneers of the Old West had to endure for the hope of a better life. And, despite everything, that's exactly what Jake tasted, a better way of life, with the love of a good woman. But, at the end of the trail someone is waiting for him in Oregon with devastating news and the romance that was hard won was easily lost overnight. Lots of looking, longing, brief touches and the sex was only really hinted at but what an emotional journey and Jake and Rachel's tumultuous romance was gritty, true to the era and very deep.
Worth a credit? It captures your imagination with richly described settings and characters, holds you on the edge of your seats with action packed scenes and rewards you with a HEA ending, so YESUM very creditworthy.
I hate to give a bad review and the storyline seemed interesting and perked my attention but it lacked many descriptions that enable the listener to visualise both the characters and the scenes. Then it was just bish bash bosh and they claimed her within seconds of meeting so no build-up towards a tender sweet romance.
Two opposing Were Clan Chief's William and Douglas (one English and one Scottish) have to share their Queen so set about looking in America where they aren't known and by Chapter 2 they'd found Rachel and by Chapter 3 they'd each had sex. I didn't find the sex scenes very descriptive, tantalising or erotic but more standard as each Chief took their turn separately until near the end and then the M/F/M action was just the norm (I'm not complaining but just pointing this out).
The action came from someone wanting Rachel dead and hired a mad Were Assassin to do it and it wasn't too difficult to figure out who however there were plenty of suspects but, as usual, the heroine decides to ignore everyone and goes for a run in the woods which turned out to be a dumb move. William and Douglas were nice, caring and thoughtful characters which gave them an endearing quality but Rachel's thoughts and feelings were, for several reasons, all over the place and I just couldn't warm to her.
Worth a credit? If this had been more skilfully written with plenty of world-building, descriptions and a longer lead up to the sex and romance then yes, but there are plenty of far better Were-shifting books out there. So, sadly I'm going to have to say, in my opinion, it is what it is - a very quick, half hearted attempt at an erotic PNR, the ending was good however that doesn't make it creditworthy but hey maybe you'll like it.
