I loved the relationship between the young boy and father. It was awesome to see the respect between the two.
He is a really good narrator. I enjoy listening to his take on the characters. He helps make each character more special and memorable.
The story as shared by the young character in the book to honor someone he loved and from whom he learned so much was eloquently written. It was however easy to believe it was his words because of the way his character was developed throughout the book. Loved it.
Can't wait to read the next book in this series.
Yes, I was drawn in and the plots kept me guessing. Just when I thought the book was at its end, I realized there was still much to be resolved.
I was not fond of his female voices. They all sounded like they were whining. At first I thought it suited the character's current role, but later realized it was just the way Schirner portrayed the females.
Several moments were touching, but I think the best part was a familial reconciliation made possible by forgiveness. (Don't want to give away much.)
I always like the main characters in this series. The end made me think it was the end of the series. Hopefully not.
This is one of the best books I've listened to.
The characters are very well developed.
No, I had to take a breather every now and then. It was intense at times.
I returned this book unfinished. I could not get in to the story. I tried to listen a couple hours, but it just never went anywhere.
Yes, I probably will listen again. The characters were interesting and since I listen while I commute and at bedtime, I'm sure I missed something. Besides that, it was just a great book.
At times I was on the edge of my seat. There were times when it was just an easy listen, but the story was well developed and kept me wanting to keep listening even after I parked my car.
He did a good job at making the voices of the characters recognizable.
I've listened to a lot of books, and this one is ranked as one of my top three. I love to listen to series, so I don't listen to a lot of stand alone books like this one, but I'm really glad I met the characters in this book. Awesome!
Entertaining, somewhat predictable
Loved the searches, my favorite was the search of a hostage.
This was a fun book, with action and humor. I loved the character development of the dogs. That was a nice surprise.
Yes, overall good book. My only negative was the gruesomeness. Other than that I'd give this book five stars across the board.
Penn Cage, but Dick Hill is fabulous at giving all characters voice. He is one of the best.
No. At times it was truly hard to put down, but the intensity and gruesomeness in some scenes got to me and I had to take some breaks.
I really enjoyed this book and would love to read more by Greg Iles if I knew how gruesome the others are on comparison.
I enjoyed the development of characters, and knowing this is a series made me happy to get to know them all.
Exciting and believable.
Great chases on ice. I can't pick just one and describe it so it won't give too much away.
Yes, kept me awake much later at night than I should have been.
Preparing to read the second book, knowing I won't be disappointed if it is anything like the first.
I cant believe I listened to the whole book waiting for something to happen. There were tons of interesting characters whos lives crossed. But the story never got going. Totally lacked an ending that made me feel like the individual characters stories ended.
