It was fun to listen to a book starring Ivan alone. I wondered how
Bujold would handle Ivan as the protaganist. She kept him in character but allowed his smarts to show. I recommend this book without reserrvation, especially to Bujold fans.

Dan Brown has produced another terrific read. The plot is twisty and well written. As with other books, he provides great historical background. So, you get a terrific read and education too.

I'm a serious Bill Bryson fan. And, I love to hear him read his own works. He has the skill to make even a dry, historical event fascinating. I'm convinced that all text book authors should be required to read A Short History of Nearly Everything so they learn that it really is possible to write interesting books for students.

After listening to this book at least 3 times, I had to own it so I could listen whenever I wanted to.

Bryson didn't read this, but the reader does a fine job conveying the nuances of Bryson's words.

Almost everyone of Miles' friends and compatriots are missing in this book. Even his wife gets only a little thought. I've not only enjoyed the Vorkasigan series for Miles' activities but the interaction among Miles and other characters, such as his clone brother, Mark, Ivan, and Gregor.

Yes, but I'd explain that the events take place outside Barryar and the usual cast of characters are missing.

I find Gardner a terrific narrator. He brings great verv and intonation. His portrayal of the various characters is outstanding.
