"I wanted to love it..."
While the aurthor is an excellent writer, I felt he went "off topic" too often, for me anyway. I bought this book because I wanted to know how Buddhism fit into his life and why, not how others have used it or changed it. I really got a lot out of this book, I just felt that I had to wade through too many areas I hadn't signed up for. I guess I just like to keep things as simple as possible.
"Loved it"
This is a great book. Fischer Stevens narrates to a "T". Silly and strange, I some how cared about the characters. I never wanted it to end. One of my top 10 reads.
"Beautiful"
The writing and narration are so well done. I truly enjoyed this book. All the narrators became their characters, drew you into their world. I cared about what was happening, couldn't wait to get back to the story. It amazes me how human beings have treated each other so poorly. Isn't the only real difference between us just different shades of brown...?
"Amazing"
This is truly the most beautiful meditation I have ever heard. Lucinda Drayton has the loveliest voice, musical and lyrical. The meditation itself is deeply moving at times, heart wrenching at others, accepting, forgiving, and always, loving. If you've ever experienced any kind of loss, this is a gift you can give to yourself, should give yourself.
"Wonderful"
Don't miss this book. The story,narration-it was wonderful. Oscar will not be soon forgotten. His intensity, his pain, his ability to love-I am so glad I listened to this book.
"Amazing"
Excellent narrator, heart wrenching tale. Tank you Mrs. Hahn Beer for sharing your story, so none of will forget...
