I was looking for something similar to Kitchen House, the best story ever told, however it has been difficult to get into......after the author went on and on about being in love with ancient structures he thought of making a story to confirm his love for these structures. After knowing that, it felt like the story came "secondhand". As if he just came up with the story as an after thought, as if he had no love for it, as if was done half-hearted. It made the stories less important. I felt this way because of my passion for Kitchen House, it was created out of substance and passion, not half-hearts.
We always want to know the answer to all WHY questions, she does a good job telling us that we will never really know why God does things. Her voice is awesome really motherly and educated, her warmth comes true and sincere.
sure, characters needed to be more dimensional, characters just kept coming out of the wood work not knowing who and where they came from...
seeing the depth of the relationship between the father and the daughter
wonder about the characters and how they moved on..
