As Denver adjusts to a new master vampire, Kitty gets word of an intruder in the Denver werewolf pack's territory, and she investigates the challenge to her authority. She follows the scent of the lycanthrope through the mountains where she is lured into a trap, tranquilized, and captured. When she wakes up, she finds herself in a defunct silver mine: the perfect cage for a werewolf.

    Any additional comments?

What happened? The past books were rich with plot and substance, unfortunately the absence of both in this book was a disappointment and difficult experience. The first hint of depth and adventure did not begin until the last chapters. This may well be the last Kitty read for me as the author seems to have lost interest and now so have I.

When Marty Andrews gets bitten by a mangy mutt while walking her teacup poodle, her blond hair darkens, the hair on her legs starts growing at an alarming rate, and her mood swings put her dream job as a sales rep for Bobbie-Sue Cosmetics in serious jeopardy. Then a drool-worthy man shows up at her door claiming that he accidentally bit Marty. And since he's a werewolf, she is now, too. Thinking Keegan Flaherty is clearly insane, Marty refuses to believe a word until a kidnapping makes her realize there's more at stake than just her highlights.

    Story
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The story could have been given more depth. The premise was good but the writer seemed to be distracted by filling with gratuitous scenes rather than develop the story or characters.

Has The Accidental Werewolf turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, I have found others in the genre to offer all this book failed to provide.

Did Meredith Mitchell do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

The narrator did a good job at creating distinctive sounds for the characters.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The characters had great potential but the story wasn't strong enough to carry them through. I liked them enough that I would enjoy seeing them developed but I don't want to waste time or money for what is likely to be a weak effort.
