"A Grim and Depressing Tale"
This story has so many disasters befall the main character that I couldn't even finish it. After believable fantasy, the hero takes a journey that turns wildly fantastic and terrible. It never gets better. Too depressing for me.
"Fabulous Story and Well Read"
My five year old daughter and I love this book. We are listening to it for the third time this week and we're both enjoying it again.
The story has good plot twists, a nice and not sticky sweet message and believable characters. Mary Pope Osborne does a fabulous job narrating this story.
"Funny But Dated"
I bought this to listen to with my 5 year old daughter. I thought it was funny but she just didn't get the jokes.
Audible recommends this for children ages 7 and under but I think the humor is more appropriate for children ages 8 to 12.
This book is funny and well read, good for adults and older children.
