This was a good unique mystery. I enjoyed it. The author is very good at describing the atmosphere. As you listen, you can visualize almost every aspect of the story. The narrator voiced all of the characters very well and it was easy to tell who was speaking. Perfect book for a rainy day.
The performance of Myra Taylor deserves an award. Her talent and skill for becoming several characters, all different from one another is extraordinary.
A truly remarkable experience. I enjoyed it immensely. So glad I discovered it on Audible!
Wish I could give 10 stars for this book! The story and the performance are top notch.
This is one I will listen to again.
Yes! First of all Lizzie Cooper is fantastic as a narrator! The author, Delores Phillips, knows how to write! She keeps you hanging on chapter after chapter. It's hard not to finish this book in one session. It's that good!
There are so many. Just watching the mother become more and more diabolical and her children doing whatever they can to survive is heart wrenching. There are many facets to this story and that's what keeps you totally immersed.
She is undoubtably one of the best narrators on Audible! She has the ability to become each of the characters. She takes on their personalities. I am looking for more books that she narratives.
There are many. This book is an emotional roller coaster.
I highly recommend this book! It's one of the best!
Unique. Dark. Edgy.
I can't compare it to another book but I can compare it slightly to the movie War of the Roses.
Everything! They WERE the characters.
Yes. It's the first time I have hated both main characters and still couldn't stop listening.
It's one of the best books I have read or listened to in a long time. It is really an experience.
This one is well worth a credit! It will surprise you in more ways than one.
I like that the author always manages to bring her characters to life. They practically jump off the pages..I don't normally read/listen to Nora Roberts because she seems like a formula writer to me.So I didn't expect any earth-shattering plots or story lines and I didn't get any.It was a good book with just a little tension thrown in.
No. I use to read the author years ago and didn't like her stories. They all seemed pretty much the same. I decided to try listening to one of her books and it was ok but I won't get another one.
Yes. Julia is a good narrator.
No. There's nothing in it to follow up.
Yes. The audio is perfect. The reader sets the tone for the story. Her voice becomes the character. I don't know if another reader could have done as excellent a job.
The moment came when I thought I knew the secret. I was wrong. The secret turned out to much more complex than I thought.
I can think of no name more appropriate than The Secret Keeper.
This is a great audiobook! It does, however, have a lot of detail. If I were reading this there would be a lot of sections I would skip. However, for this book, you can't skip. The characters stories are interwoven and the complexity of the secret is revealed through the details. All in all, an excellent story and well worth the read.
