The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

What did you like best about this story?

Alan Cumming's Dr. Seward and Katherine Kellgren's portrayal of Mina Harker.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

They brought this characters to life. I felt I was experiencing the story first hand with all it's horror and nuances.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I listen in my car because my commute is long. I had to force myself to turn off the car and get into work. I didn't want to stop listening!!!

Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old - when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer. Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries....

If you could sum up Hounded in three words, what would they be?

    I love Oberon!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hounded?

When the dog asked for a passel of French Poodles in exchange for helping Atticus! Serious, laugh out loud hysterics in the car!

This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

Would you try another book from Stephen King and/or Grover Gardner?

    Steven King-yes
    Grover Gardner-no

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

It was read well BUT it was dry. Mr. Gardner does poorly in reading women's parts. It was very dry. If this is ever redone, a cast would be the way to go. Because there are so many special characters, having each have their own reader/actor would be the best. I realize that could be unwieldy but it would serve the narrative better. Just as long as Molly Ringwald isn't one of them. As we have seen, many books are the better read by rather large cast(like Dune and The Help).
