"A Must Read!"
Don't let the title dissuade you from reading this book! The author will take you on a wonderful journey through some of the best works of literature available to Audible listeners as Wil Schwalbe and his mother share their love of reading with each other. After finishing this selection, I listened to two more outstanding books that the author and his mother had discussed: Pillars of the Earth and Crossing to Safety.
The mother was performed so well by this male! It made me smile thinking how well the author wrote the many "Mom" phrases in this book and how well he and the narrator had me so clearly imagining her in my mind. She held so many positions in her life and was a tireless humanitarian...yet she always had time to read a great book!...and although most of her jobs would have impressed any dinner guest, she remained humble and always said her most important job was being a mother.
"A Must for Andy Cohen Fans"
LOL terrific read
At a couple points in the book (one being the rare Indian moccasin story), I actually cried from laughing so hard and almost had to pull over to the side of the road!
Worth the money and then some! It's an entertaining autobiography and I enjoyed it immensely!
"This Actor Tells a Great Story"
This tome is a captivating look of Rob Lowe's life from his childhood to his adult life. I can see why his friend Mike Meyers told him he must write this book! I'm close in age to Rob Lowe (having watched most of the movies he talks about in the book) and he gives interesting tidbits of information that he might indeed only share with one of his friends. It's refreshing that he and his wife have a strong relationship which he cherishes to this day, and he reveals the story of their love affair. I enjoyed his narration and it enhanced the telling of his life story. Money well-spent.
The stories about his West Wing years.
The many behind-the-scenes stories where the listener/reader learns what happens in order to get movies made.
The story that opened the book which he returns to near the end of the book. It has to do with John Kennedy, Jr. and leaves the listener/reader wanting more Rob Lowe stories!
"See What Life is Like in the Slums of Mumbai"
Probably not at this time.
Excellent job!
No.
If you want to learn about a realistic view of life in the slums of Mumbai, then this selection is for you --- a true and well-researched account of the lives of those living there. Listen to this Audible selection knowing that this is not a funny feel-good type of tome, but you will definitely appreciate the life you have after finishing it! Imagine what you would do to survive a life filled with oppression, hunger, corruption and desperation!
