When Katie appears in the small North Carolina town of Southport, her sudden arrival raises questions about her past. Beautiful yet self-effacing, Katie seems determined to avoid forming personal ties until a series of events draws her into two reluctant relationships: one with Alex, a widowed store owner with a kind heart and two young children; and another with her plainspoken single neighbor, Jo. Despite her reservations, Katie begins to let down her guard, putting down roots in the close-knit community..

I loved this book! Nicholas Sparks did it again. I finished it in two days, much to my husbands chagrin I couldn't turn it off. The characters are so endearing. This story is gripping and touching. I highly recommend this audio book.

Jodi Picoult delivers the riveting tale of one small town's entanglement with high-school violence.

New York Superior Court Judge Alex Cormier is assigned to preside over the case of the alleged Sterling High School shooter. Lawyer Jordan McAffee represents Peter, the boy who, on the day of the shooting, was found in the corner of the gymnasium holding a gun to his head with a shaky hand. Detective Patrick DuCharme has one star witness, but her story keeps changing. And then there's the biggest problem of all: the star witness happens to be Judge Cormier's daughter.

As always Jodi Picoult deals with real contemporary moral issues. This one tells the story of bullying and its effects on the givers and receivers. It was painful for me to read because it is so true. Excellent character development of typical teen life in all its wonder and ugliness. I would highly recommend it to all ages. Would be a good discussion opportunity if read by parents and their children.

I love this author, I have always ;pved this author. She has penned some of my very favorite books but this one was a disappointment. It could be that I'm not a fan of paranormal writing. Witches, spells, missing souls and coverns are not what I expect in a romance novel. There were some bondage elements in this story that I did not expect or enjoy. Everyone want to get on the 50 shades bandwagon. I haven't given up Lisa's books but will read more reviews before I buy.

The book started out so slow and confusing with all the people in this story, I thought I may have wasted a credit. I kept listening and I am so glad I did. I really liked the charachters and I do mean charachters. Kara found out she was adioted and set out to find her birth parents. What she found was clearly unexpected. The story was sometimes sad, sweet and sometimes funny and it left me with a good happily ever after feeling.

I love all of SEP books. I always look forward to her new books. Infact, I hope the next book is about Dr. Christie. I was, however, getting real tired of Lucy's nasty mouth and the way she and Patrick treated each other. It went on a bit too long. No real person would put up with so much bickering and insults. I liked the ending real well.

This was typical Fern Michaels, I think it's the narrator that makes them sound alike. I have many Fern Michaels books and this one is my least favorite. The main charachter was such a brat, I wanted to smack her! I did listen to it though to hear the ending, so I guess that says something.

This could've been a good story, but the narrator ruined it. She talked way too fast and in monotone for the men. I did sit through it because I wanted to know what happened though so that's saying something I guess.
