This is very interesting- Mr French researched so much - he actually solves this crime for Pamela and her father- never knew Peking is Beijing- maybe it willl come up on Jeopardy someday- very enjoyable
Although I consider myself to have a pretty good memory, I have struggled so much with Russian vocabulary over the past two years. Mr Metivier is correct when he says saying that there are better ways of learning vocabulary than rote memorization . I learned my vocab. list for the whole month in one day! I ma very excited about this method , and I am going to share it with Russian class tonight.
The book is fun, with a lively approach to learning. There are a lot of details- additional resources are noted throughout, there are free worksheets to help you build your Palace, and Mr Metivier welcomes questions and answers them promptly.
I signed up for the free Magnetic Memory newsletter.
The narrator was very good- but it would have been great to have Mr Metvier read it himself.
To paraphrase the book, when we memorize, we learn"and when we learn we are fully alive.
LISTEN TO THIS BOOK- you wont be disappointed. More Michael Forsythe please!!!
When will the movies be made???
Nobody writes like Dostoyevsky ( I have a Dostoyevsky bumper sticker) and no one narrates his books as well as George Guidall- anyone would love D after listening to George Guidall. PLEASE MAKE BROTHERS KARAMAZOV AVAILABLE IN UNABRIDGED READ BY GG ( and I dont mean Gordon Gekko). I heard it on CD from library
I dont know who I like better - Mckintry or Doyle- but they always exceed my expectations.
Ken Perenyi is a real artist and craftsman- only problem was that I wanted the story to go on- I want this gentleman to be happy
The technical parts of the story were extremely interesting
The only bad thing I can say is that I have now listened to all of the McK/Doyle books and I have to wait for another
I recently discovered his author and the narrator- I love them both and will listen to anything that involves either one-
like the Dead trilogy- lots of graphic violence which I was able to skip over when it got to be too much
I guess Kansas gothic is not my thing- Southern Gothic I love, but I couldn't relate to the characters- didn't like the setting
narrator very dead-pan- which probably works well for this story, but I just didn't like the story
Extremely creep and VERY timely- strikes a chord with our world economic situation-I absolutely loved this book and I listened to it twice! I highly recommend it if you like psch thrillers- lots of atmosphere
I can see how the story could happen anywhere
loved the description of the Spains' relationship
First entrance into the Spain house
I hated the neighbors
THIS NARRATOR IS FANTASTIC !!!! Please use him again!
