  • Full Tilt

    • UNABRIDGED (7 hrs and 22 mins)
    • By Janet Evanovich, Charlotte Hughes
    • Narrated By Lorelei King

A note from the author: With Full House, Charlotte Hughes and I teamed up to create an exciting new series. Now we bring you the second audiobook, Full Tilt, filled with even more fast-paced action, crazy characters, steamy sex, suspense, and nonstop hilarity. While these audios are not set in the world of Stephanie Plum, we're convinced they will bring you all the fun, wisecracks, and the adventure that we love.

    Janet says: "Fluff"
"You will want to shoot them yourself"

"Exciting new series, filled with fast-paced action, crazy characters, steamy sex, suspense, and nonstop hilarity."

"Jamie Swift has one priority in quiet Beaumont, South Carolina: running the local newspaper."

Jamie Swift couldn't write a newpaper article to save her life, which is exactly what she does not do. If Jamie Swift is the hard-core newspaper journalist that the reviews make her out to be, she would have already investigated what was going on in her town, and blown the top off the scandal before Max Holt shows up. The only "shaking up" that is done is having her car riddled with bullets.

"Max and Jamie are betting their lives on a long shot."

Don't bet your life on a good listen; just bet that you will have an irratating listen.

  • The Killing Hour

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 49 mins)
    • By Lisa Gardner
    • Narrated By Anna Fields

A serial killer watches and waits. Each time, he takes two victims, preparing the first's body with all the clues the police need to find the second, who is still alive. The clock ticks, and the second one can still be saved. But the police never make it in time. The second one dies. For years, the killer has plagued the city with the same pattern, but the police never pick up on it quickly enough.

Mina Brown says: "Captivating--it hooks you!"

I learned a lot about the state of Virginia while listening to this book. I was so intrigued that I followed the clues by researching places mentioned on the Internet. I have discussed this book with people more than I have any other books I've listened to. Lisa Gardner made me see a different Virginia than I am use to.

I'm giving this 4 stars due to the above.

  • The Coffee Trader: A Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 27 mins)
    • By David Liss
    • Narrated By John Lee

On the world's first commodities exchange, fortunes are won and lost in an instant. Miguel Lienzo, a sharp-witted trader in the city's close-knit community of Portuguese Jews, knows this only too well. Once among the city's most envied merchants, Miguel has lost everything in a sudden shift in the sugar markets. Now, impoverished and humiliated, living on the charity of his petty younger brother, Miguel must find a way to restore his wealth and reputation.

    Robert says: "Flawless!"
    "No Redemption"

I am writing this review because I can not allow this story to get a high score of approval.

I personally did not find the characters nor the story sympathetic. I found the main character excessively self involved.

Perhaps if I had been educated about the Jewish faith, and the Foreign Exchange Market I would have a better appreciation of the complexities in which the writer was trying to express his story; but I doubt it.

I found this story to be long, tedious, and drawn out to the point of dread.

  • Full House

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 42 mins)
    • By Janet Evanovich
    • Narrated By Lorelei King
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

From Janet Evanovich, author of the best selling Stephanie Plum bounty hunter series, comes this romantic adventure tale written in the Plum tradition, teeming with fast-paced action, dysfunctional loveable characters, steamy sex, suspense, and lots of laughs.

Brenda says: "It's not Plum but it's a good story."
    "Sucker for a good adventure"

If Nick senses danger, you should too. I believed that I would find another enjoyable heroine to live life vicariously through, unfortunately as the story progressed I couldn't find anything I would want to experience or realize through this unimaginative or simplistic character. I found myself unsympathetic, and unwilling to participate in the experience.

Don't become the sucker I became by buying not only Full House, but Full Blast, Full Speed, and Full Tilt thinking I was buying another series of books with characters that would grow & charm me; unfortunately that is not the case. You will be introduced to the insipid Ms Jamie Swift.

  • The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 42 mins)
    • By Mark Twain
    • Narrated By Patrick Fraley
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

One of the greatest treats in all world literature, this masterpiece from Mark Twain inspired a literary revolution. The novel offers both brilliant humor and tragedy as Huck and Jim explore the moral dilemmas of slavery and freedom. Huck, the narrator, is shrewd, ingenious, and literal; he reports on everything he sees, which allows the listener to experience the hypocrisy of "sivilization".

Andrea says: "Terrific interpretion of an excellent story"
    "extremely pleasant"

before listening to the adventures of huckleberry finn, i would recommend listening to the study guide first; although the reading of huckleberry finn is very well done, and an extremely pleasant experience, i do not believe i would have accepted certain aspects of the book, with our present day vision, to truly appreciate the humanity shown for the timeframe the story is written

  • A Study Guide to Mark Twain's Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

    • ORIGINAL (1 hr and 12 mins)
    • By Kirsten Silva Gruesz
    • Narrated By John O'Connell

Mark Twain's classic and controversial novel weaves together adventure, comedy, and satire as Huck struggles to escape his constricting life and sets off down the river with Jim, a slave. This comprehensive explanation of the novel offers an introduction to Mark Twain's life, a detailed narrative guide to the book, dramatic readings, and a critical analysis.

    K. Foster says: "Literary Reference Material Recommendation"
    "thanks for the explanation"

i am very grateful that i listened to the study guide of huckleberry finn before litening to the book; i understood so much more about huck's reasoning throughout the story; the study guide made the listening experience of "the adventures of huckleberry finn" a great pleasure
