"Competent Mystery Story that pays homage to 2001"
I am a Military- SiFi buff that will go for a good mystery if a description caches me.
The environment seems to draw on a variety of sub cultures to form a society that is almost believable, the depiction of the NASA community is a subtle critique of the US Space program.
However the book suffers from putting a fake cowboy style Elon Musk as the main antagonist. With the exception of Henry Kissinger real people are kept in the background.
The main plot is a conspiracy theorist dream involving Nixon, the Russians ,secret moon landings with a 40 year coverup.
The general ending is visible from a a mile away, to anyone who have seen 2001 a space odyssey or transformers 3. Altho the specific ending is eluted to you don't see the biggest oh du why didn't i see that until the final chapter.
I am a moderate liberal, so the libertarian Bucky and total ineffectual politicians is a bit grading and at the same time seems to be a bit to realistic.
All voice ranges are proffered very well done
I finished this book in less than 18 hours, and the again a few days later.
Spoiler warning: Christians may be offended by the ending.
