"Wicked Nights"
A great start to a new series, it was good to read about a softer/loveable side of Zacharel. I look forward to reading Koldo's story. Though I will say I still like the LoU series better so far, and yes I enjoyed the reappearance of some of the Lords. I was disappointed though that Max Bellmore was listed as the narrator when in fact he was not the narrator.
The Lords of the Underworld by Gena Showalter
Max Bellmore was not the narrator though he should have been, this should be corrected.
yes
"A Memory of Light"
I would recommend this book as well as any other book of the series because it is my favorite series in the genre. Robert Jordan spun a tale that encompassed so many plotlines I needed to keep a spreadsheet to remember them all.
There are too many to name. This series had a character base of strong and loveable major and minor characters.
They did them all well, they are two good narrators that went very well with the series.
I wouldn't want this book or any of the books in the series to be in a film because a film would not be able to capture the story and all the nuances of the characters. Too much would be lost in the translation and it would do a disservice to the series.
Well, what can I say this book has exceeded my expectations? Throughout its many pages I have experienced many emotions including joy, anger, angst, anticipation and sorrow. It has brought together all of the books of the series and culminated into the end of a journey which I have enjoyed partaking in for the last 23 years. I have felt joy at the loss of some who I was glad to see go, sorrow over those who I was saddened to lose and bewildered over those whose absence was inconspicuously missing. I have cried, laughed and cursed Jordan’s and Sanderson’s name throughout this book. But thankfully by the time I read the last word, I was happy I started this journey. I am sorry to see it go but what else can I say but WELL DONE TEAM JORDAN, THANK YOU FOR THE RIDE!!
EDIT: I would like to add something to this. I do not understand why there are some who are giving low ratings on the book based on the fact the ebook will not be released for 3 months. While I do not understand how that should impact the review of the book, I also do not understand how soon readers, those who started reading this series in the very beginning, are forgetting the 9 month to a year delay between the release of the hardback and the paperback volumes of the book. A 3 month delay is nothing to whine over. And yes I will be one who will be purchasing the ebook as a pre-order as soon as it is available.
"Phantom Shadows - I Loved it"
Yes, this series was very good, made me laugh, cry and sigh.
Sebastien and Melanie. I loved Melanie's assertiveness, you usually do not read that in the heroines, but she was a refreshing character. As for Bastien, almost every one loves the bad boy, and an underdog to boot, what's not to love.
Yes, it made me laugh many times and close to tearing up a time or two.
"Bared to You"
I would give it a 4 out of 5, I enjoyed the narrator, she handled the different voices well.
I liked the growth between Gideon and Eva.
Gideon
I could have but no it was not possible for me to listen in one sitting.
I found this book as a recommendation that I would enjoy it if I enjoyed Fifty Shades of Grey. Since Fifty is one of my favorite trilogies I decided to give it a try. Needless to say the first quarter of the book I did not enjoy as much because I was comparing it to Fifty Shades, which this book is NOT. I finally had to put FSoG out of my mind in order to give this book its full due. Once I did that I really enjoyed the book. The story between Gideon and Eva was enjoyable to read and I look forward to the next installment in order to continue their story. While I think this book is a 5-star book and well worth the read, it is no Fifty Shades. There was chemistry between Gideon and Eva but nothing compared to Christian and Ana. The only thing I enjoyed about this book over FSoG is that this one was written in a much better writing style. But with that being said I enjoyed the story of Christian and Ana over that of Gideon and Eva. This book was done a disservice by being compared to Fifty Shades, as such it falls short. Promoted on its own merits this book would do much better.
"Fifty Shades of Grey"
First let me start off by saying I truly enjoyed this book, the author took me on a journey through Ana and Christian's love story which I found profoundly moving. After reading the reviews for the controversial topic of BDSM, I thought I would find it distasteful and offensive, but the sexual relationship between Ana and Christian was handled both tastefully and it gave this reader an insight into a world that I have no prior experience in. I've enjoyed this story so thoroughly that I purchased the second and third book prior to reaching the halfway point in this one. I look forward to reading the continuing story of Ana and Christian and as I am a true romantic I am hoping for a happy ending for them both, I sure hope so because I am still reeling from the ending in Fifty Shades of Grey. This is truly a story for lovers of romance who can handle it with an open mind.
"Fifty Shades Darker"
Oh this series is getting better and better, Darker was even better than Grey, that must mean that Freed is going to be off the chart fantastic!!!
"Fifty Shades Freed"
A beautiful ending to a beautiful series. I picked it up and could not put it down. And now it is over, I feel like I need to read it again to catch all that I might have missed.
I decided that I wanted to also experience this series as the audiobook. At first I did not care for the narrator, she made Ana seem much younger than her 21 years, but after a while she grew on me. This series is even more enjoyable and intense in the audio format. I see myself reliving this series again and again in the future. For those who have gotten caught up in the hype and have not tried it, you are missing a truly beautiful journey of love between two loveable people.
Both Christian and Ana were my favorites, Christian a little more so than Ana. But they both had characteristics that I found loveable and enjoyable.
I didn't particularly care for her at first, her voice made Ana sound younger than she was supposed to be, but it eventually grew on me.
