I didn't like any of the characters in this book. I enjoy quirky people, but these folks were mostly downright unhappy and dysfuntional because of who they were. I read and heard favorable reviews so I had high expectations which sadly were not met.
Pete Bradbury's voice is too gravelly. I found it very unpleasant to listen to. I didn't listen to the sample but this taught me to listen to the sample audio before I buy another audio book.
The heroine was irritating. In the beginning of the book all she did was whine.
I didn't like her voice and I thought she read the story too slowly.
I was disappointed in the story and didn't like Mel. Too whiney, too wimpy, too middle class. She buys and wears designer jeans and shoes. She drives a BMW. She yells
Didn't finish book
Great adventure story.
When Jacky was riding the Shiek.
Ms. Kellgren has a great voice, speaking as well as singing. She does a great cockney accent and when she sings the songs that Jacky performs, the audio book adds so much to the experience of listening to the book.
I laughed a lot while listening to this book on my iPod. I walked around grinning like the village idiot.
This is a great series. Jacky Faber is an amazing heroine and the only way to experience the books are by listening on audio.
The woman's voice drove me crazy. Toooooo Southern. The story isn't bad, but I found the voice irritating to the point where I could not enjoy the story.
I was disappointed with this book. I was expecting something else I think. Perhaps getting more into the mind of the young Sherlock to explain why he thought the way he did and detailing his thought processes as he solved his first mystery.
Not one of Jennifer Crusie's best. Rather formulaic. She can write much better. I'm glad I've read some of her other books, otherwise, I wouldn't bother reading her other books.
