Six years have passed since Jake Fisher watched Natalie, the love of his life, marry another man. Six years of hiding a broken heart by throwing himself into his career as a college professor. Six years of keeping his promise to leave Natalie alone, and six years of tortured dreams of her life with her new husband, Todd. But six years haven’t come close to extinguishing his feelings, and when Jake comes across Todd’s obituary, he can’t keep himself away from the funeral. There he gets the glimpse of Todd’s wife he’s hoping for...but she is not Natalie....

One of the best thrillers I've heard. Coben kept me intrigued throughout the entire story. This is one of the few thrillers I've read that I couldn't figure out how the story would end. Scott Brick did a wonderful job of narrating this book. I would recommend this to anyone who likes thrillers!

Once again another mystery/thriller from Brett Battles! I thought at first the narrator was terrible, but as the story progressed her slow delivery grew on me. I look forward to the second book in the series!

The book kept my interest, but barely. Very slow moving, it did pick up around the middle of the book. Could have easily cut down the complete audiobook. I would consider another audiobook from the author, but will return to other authors first.

Imprisoned and tormented for months, Lizzy narrowly escaped with her life and Spiderman vanished without a trace. But if she thought he would forget her, she was dead wrong.

The 40-year-old crucifixion of a prominent labor leader named Jack Flynn remains an unsolved atrocity that has never been forgotten in New Iberia, Louisiana. When Flynn's daughter, Megan, returns to the site of her father's murder, it quickly becomes clear that her family's blood-stained past will not stay buried. Megan gives her old friend Dave Robicheaux a tip about a small-time criminal named Cool Breeze Broussard, scarcely suspecting that the seemingly innocuous case will lead Robicheaux and his partner into the midst of a deadly conspiracy.

I enjoy James Lee Burke's books, but Mark Hammer made it a hard read. There was no distinction between different characters, and at times his delivery was quite boring. I guess I've been spoiled by Will Patton. In my opinion Patton "is" the voice of Dave Robicheaux!
