    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Court Gentry is known as The Gray Man - a legend in the covert realm, moving silently from job to job, accomplishing the impossible, and then fading away. And he always hits his target. But there are forces more lethal than Gentry in the world. And in their eyes, Gentry has just outlived his usefulness. Now, he is going to prove that for him, there's no gray area between killing for a living-and killing to stay alive.

    Michael says: "High Energy Ride!"
    "Great read of a thriller."
Would you listen to The Gray Man again? Why?

I have listened pieces of the book several times as I tend to leave it on late and eventually have to backtrack to where I left the action.

What did you like best about this story?

The story line keeps you guessing how the Gray man will handle the situation and then hooked you have to keep listening, chores can wait.

What about Jay Snyder’s performance did you like?

I liked this reader because he gave the characters life with personality unique to each. The reading was properly paced for my listening.

  • Taken: An Elvis Cole - Joe Pike Novel, Book 15

    • UNABRIDGED (7 hrs and 47 mins)
    • By Robert Crais
    • Narrated By Luke Daniels
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

When Nita Morales hires Elvis Cole to find her missing adult daughter, she isn’t afraid, even though she’s gotten a phone call asking for ransom. She knows it’s a fake, that her daughter is off with the guy Nita will call only “that boy,” and that they need money: "Even smart girls do stupid things when they think a boy loves them." But she is wrong....

    R. Conley says: "One of the best"
    "good read"
Would you consider the audio edition of Taken to be better than the print version?

the audio version meets my needs. i can no longer read for long periods of time as i once could and the audio also allows me to multitask.....browse, garden, drive etc.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Taken?

i cannot remember one particular moment in retrospect the story has good continuity and Joe and Elvis work it out.

Which character – as performed by Luke Daniels – was your favorite?

I like elvis best as the story teller and combined with joe as the action maker to back him up.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

this subject matter is everyday news and is sad commentary on todays lifestyle.

    Any additional comments?

i have read all of the books in this series and they all entertain and enlighten.

  • The Pale King

    • UNABRIDGED (19 hrs and 19 mins)
    • By David Foster Wallace
    • Narrated By Robert Petkoff

The agents at the IRS Regional Examination Center in Peoria, Illinois, appear ordinary enough to newly arrived trainee David Foster Wallace. But as he immerses himself in a routine so tedious and repetitive that new employees receive boredom-survival training, he learns of the extraordinary variety of personalities drawn to this strange calling. And he has arrived at a moment when forces within the IRS are plotting to eliminate even what little humanity and dignity the work still has. The Pale King remained unfinished at the time of David Foster Wallace's death....

what a waste of time. . . . . and i listened to all of it waiting for a reason to have done so.
