I feel Stephen, who is my favorite a writer in this genre, must have pulled this one out of his "holding" bag. Not much of a story. Audio screwed up. Wish I had my credit back. Will look at future Roland adventures with a jaundiced eye. King is worthy of SO much better.

Should have gotten a better narrator. John Lee, etc Roy Dotrice probably wouldn't have done it. Frank Muller would be my first choice, but his marvelous voice has been silenced by fate .

Great story; however narrator/author makes fatal mistake by telling the story herself. Has an accent that most ears will find it difficult to adapt to. A good narrator could have made all the difference. Author knows a few different languages, but quite a few words spoken by her in English are confusing and misaccented.

Too bad, could have had a wider audience with a narrator like Robin Miles. sigh.

Absolutely up there with the best books I have listened to. Hard to believe this is the author's second book. However, the narrator is mind-blowing. I had not heard of Robin Miles before, but I shall look for her.You will be in awe of her voice talents. She has the uncanny ability to speak in any dialect or accent (slave or "high born". Enjoyed it more than The Help and I love that one too.

When Lilith lost all control and got a weird kind of revenge when she attacked her tormentors. I as rooting for her - even thought it was gruesome and barbaric. She had learned well from her captors

I previously read Butler's Fledging and thought it a very good book. However, this book is a very, very poor rendition. I purchased it after reading a glowing report by a famous female jazz singer. Now, I know her taste in books is deplorable. This book could have been read in one chapter, yet it droned on and on. It is redundant to the point of making the listener want to turn the gas on. Can't remember when I've been so dissappointed and want my money back.

Whenever I see Lisa Gardner's name on a title, I've got to have it! This lady does indeed have this genre sewn up. She rules!! I'm looking for more Lisa Gardner's books. I've read a lot of books and Gardner is one of the few authors I know will have me tingling with tension and exhales of wow, wow, wow!!

I feel mislead into dloading this title. Thought it would be a new take from Koontz. Instead, it is the same, old rehashed mush. Halfway through the first part and it feels so predictable and trite.
Koontz has a long, long way to go before becoming halfway the writer Stephen King is.

Read this twice through public libraries. Want to own my copy. Britt Johnson, the "colored" ex-slave was also mentioned in the gritty best seller, "Empire of the Summer Moon." In my humble opinion, this is Jiles best book. So many are uneducated about how blacks were involved in the settling of the West, because it is not taught in most schools in the United States. Hope you will be as delighted as I was.

I, too, have most of Daniel Silva's audios in this series. I realize it's a fine line, but one can go to the well once too often. You know Gabriel won't die because he is the linchpin to future serials. I personally like the author and his hero, but I'm now bored. I can just go back to early books and relisten. Readers want new stimulation.

Wasted a credit. Started off pretty decent and decended into nuttiville. A bunch of stories and then author threw in some Sam Shephard onions. First, wives are dead and then appear in next chapter, up and whining. I was really suckered on this one.

I love a feel-good story. Two hours in, but I will complete it -- perhaps read again. I feel there are some life lessons to learn here. I'm not particularly religious, so my eyebrows have raised all by themselves several times. lol.
