high fantasy classic
Arya Stark is the great character of transition, the one that becomes so much more, and easily the most interesting in the book.
He gives a number of the characters lisps and speech impediments. It is unnecessary, not written into the books and incredibly annoying.
This is a great first book in a a great series.
I would recommend it to any friend who enjoys folklore, fantasy, and pulp adventure.
Judge Keith Hilary Pursuivant is an excellent character. Stalwart, confident, and righteous, he is a terror to evil.
His voice is strong and consistent.
This book is all about good's triumph over evil. I felt a fierce joy whenever the bad guys lost...
Download the whole Manly Wade Wellmamn series!
The excellent, fun, interesting short stories.
The Devil is Not Mocked and Other Warnings by Manly Wade Wellman. These are collections of short stories that don't belong to a charachter's series (like Silver John or John Thunstone.) They are fantasy and scifi short stories, often set in the appalachians.
I recommend you download the entire series. Manly Wade Wellman's works are a national treasure.
paranormal pulp fiction
There are several high points, but what i like like best is the author's confidence in good's triumph over evil.
The opportunity to absorb this great volume while I drive to work.
The culmination of twice cursed, and the death of Jackson...
download every book in this masterful series.
I would rerecord any narrations by Yuri Rasovsky. Many of the stories were recycled from the short stories in the I Am Leged collection.
The stories were so dark, I have listened to many Richard Matheson Stories, but these are easily the darkest and angriest
spitty slobbery gross
I love Richard Matheson's writing, but this compilation just seemed lazy.
The story was great, great characters and a great twist at the end.
The Road to Mars, which I don't think is in Audiobook at this point. Also Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy to some lesser extent.
a lot of emotion and sarcasm, his voices are great, however, after listening to his narration in the Old Man's War series, he seemed a little out of place.
Eveything, great story, great characters, great pacing, great narration.
for it's addictive nature, the Harry Potter Series.
I laughed, I Cried, I hurled, I was addicted.
If you have this book, you should get it and start it today. My favorite in years.
I don't know. I didn't read the print version.
I liked Hickory and Dickory, Scalzi made them really interesting characters.
I have listened to the entire Old Man's War Trilogy and I'm currently listening to the Sheriff of Yrmaneer. He is definitely better suited for action and drama than for humor. These books better suit his vocal talents.
Yes, but no. I listen to audiobooks when I drive. My Commute is 20 minutes at a time, and I work in my car one day a week.
this is book three of a trilogy. don't buy without getting book 1 - Old Man's War and book 2 - The Ghost Brigades.
fun, exciting, interesting
Jared Dirac was my favorite, but mostly because he was the main character. Everyone in Scalzi's books is expendable, so you can't get too attached to the characters. Instead, you get awed by the action, the technology, the fresh concepts...
it's right in line with the excellent job he did on Old Man's War. His voice is well suited for this type of book.
the ending was great.
The First book in the Series,
the ability to enjoy the book while driving.
For the Saints of God and for the Lamb!
Well worth a listen. Frank Peretti is great.
