I love Merle. This is a very compelling tale of a dog you cannot help but love. The author portrays his great personality with such humanity. This is a book for anyone who has loved a dog and has treated one as valued family member. The author also does a great job of relaying facts and history of the evolution of this great relationship which many of us are lucky enough to enjoy.

A fansinating, inside look at a portion of the gambling industry. This is a well told and well read account of what a little ingenuity can accomplish, or perhaps I should say can destroy.

Such great information presented in an understandable format. A bit humbling to realize our place in the enormity of the universe and its life span. It is written in a less than overwhelmingly serious manner and the reader makes it even more entertaining. Highly recommended!

Excellent review of the post-WW II history of international relations. Well written but not particularly complimentary to the CIA. Could have done without the gratuitous portrayal of President Regan. Having seen the mini-series on TV provided the opportunity to put faces an the characters, especially "Mother" and "The Sourcorer". Scott Brick is superb at bringing out the characters. Great choice.

AH would have loved today's big government. Fortunately, Jefferson and his compatriots held it off for many years.The more things change, the more they stay the same. Politics and politicians haven't changed much in 200 years. Hamilton was a true innovator and would have loved the way things turned out.
The book is an excellent analysis of a man, who rose above a questionable upbringing, and his accomplishments, whether you agree with the results or not.
I can only fantisize with glee how wonderful it would be should current day politicians settle their differences with duels as was done in Hamilton's day.

This is a great book for anyone interested in the evolution of the Napa Wine Industry. Interwoven is the high and complex price paid by highly motivated family members driven by some times mutually exclusive goals. It is a fasinating story written in a very entertaining manner. It is also very well read. One of my best non-fiction selections.

I couldn't endure any more. I gave up after chapter 17. I've listened to recorded books for over 15 years and this is the first one I couldn't finish. "Amateur" is the word that comes to mind. Amateur writing and amateur reading. Someone below mentioned Frank Muller in the same sentance as this reader. In her dreams!
