In the fourth installment of The Dark Tower, Roland and his band have narrowly escaped the city of Lud and boarded Blaine, a train that will take them to, of all places, Kansas, where the ghost city of Topeka has been depopulated by a superflu and where, alongside Interstate 70, an emerald palace rises enchantingly. Before Roland and the companions of his ka-tet continue along the Path of the Beam, Roland must tell his companions the tale that defines him both as a man and hero.

What made the experience of listening to Wizard and Glass the most enjoyable?

I like listening, because I get everything, my imagination fills in just like reading, maybe better.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Wizard and Glass?

I am not going to spoil it for anyone, but I absolutely love Oy.

What does Frank Muller bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I could tell who was speaking, without being told. It made it seem more realistic.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it was, all of them in this series were. But, I listened at work, and limited it to them. It sure made me anxious to work all week!!

    Any additional comments?

Listen to the whole series, it is great.

  • The Gunslinger: The Dark Tower I

Eerie, dreamlike, set in a world that is weirdly related to our own, The Gunslinger introduces Roland Deschain of Gilead, of In-World that was, as he pursues his enigmatic antagonist to the mountains that separate the desert from the Western Sea in the first volume of The Dark Tower series. Roland, the last gunslinger, is a solitary figure, perhaps accursed, who with a strange single-mindedness traverses an exhausted, almost timeless landscape of good and evil.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I wold recommend this to a friend, it is one of Mr. King's best.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Gunslinger?

Jake in the mountain, I won't say anymore!!

What does George Guidall bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His voice IS the voice of the Gunslinger.

If you could take any character from The Gunslinger out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Alice, because she seemed like she would have some interesting stories.

    Any additional comments?

This story just gets better and better as I read the later books. I have low eyesight, and have wanted for years to read this series. Now I can, and hearing it brings it to life for me.
