What an odd story about Odd and his adventure with Odin, Thor and Loki. It's become a favorite that I love hearing over again. Neil Gaiman is the perfect narrator for his stories. His style is precise, light and exact in inflection. A perfect little story.
Ignatius J. Reilly is utterly and hilariously unforgettable ... So disturbing is he that one wishes to look away, but cannot. A host of delightful characters brought to life by Barrett Whitener, who does John Kennedy Toole's one and only novel proud.
Ruby Dee's narration is riveting and moving. The story is spellbinding and beautiful. I will listen to this again and again and again.
What a fun book, in between swashbuckling adventure and rescuing beauties, Mr. Stephenson teaches us history and we rarely notice we're learning!
King of the Vagabonds, Jack Shaftoe, must be the progenitor of Cap'n Jack Sparrow! Although the adventures of Jack Shaftoe circumnavigate the world.
I thought this utterly awful and immature book was made worse by its narrator, who whined the dialog. A ridiculous waste of computer space. Even at free it wasn't worth the download or my listening time. I gave it the one star only because a rating is forced. It doesn't count ... the book deserves no star.
