Author Benjamin Hoff shows that the philosophy of Winnie-the-Pooh is amazingly consistent with the principles of Taoism and demonstrates how you can use these principles in your daily life. Is there such thing as a Western Taoist? Benjamin Hoff says there is, and this Taoist's favorite food is honey.

This is a wonderful little listen!!! the narrator is funny and perfect and the book is so simple and makes so much sense. I listened to it once then turned around and listened again just because it makes so much sense and its so simple.
    I love it!!!

The reader was great and the story was full of the regular fun characters. Even though these kinds of novels are totally predictable they are fun and The Bride is a fun book to listen to. I enjoyed the story line and that I could just listen and not have to worry about the characters or wonder if all will be well in the end.

Graham Greene’s evocative analysis of the love of self, the love of another, and the love of God is an English classic that has been translated for the stage, the screen, and even the opera house. Academy Award-winning actor Colin Firth (The King’s Speech, A Single Man) turns in an authentic and stirring performance for this distinguished audio release.

I like Graham Greene and as a woman I just couldn't resist Colin Firth reading this book. He was GREAT!!!! and not because he will always be Mr. Darcy in a wet shirt coming out of a pond. He brought the book to life. I wish he'd read more books.
This could have been a really depressing and boring listen about the emotions and lives of lost souls at the end of an affair but with Mr. Firth's timing and respect for the characters he brought them to life as well s their stuggles. Even though I may not have liked the characters all the time they were made very real, very human and I wanted to keep listening and I wanted them to be happy in the end.

Andy Barber has been an assistant district attorney in his suburban Massachusetts county for more than 20 years. He is respected in his community, tenacious in the courtroom, and happy at home with his wife, Laurie, and son, Jacob. But when a shocking crime shatters their New England town, Andy is blindsided by what happens next: his 14-year-old son is charged with the murder of a fellow student.

So here's the thing I am a HUGE David Rosenfeld fan. The main Character's name is Andy and he's a lawyer and his wife (who he adores) name is Lori and they lived in a suburb of Boston (ok so its not NJ) and Grover Gardner is reading. I got all excited that I had burned a David Rosenfeld book and was waiting to laugh ..I waited and waited until the story line took me but I couldn't get past all the parallels.
This was heart wrenchingly sad and a good book . I just wish that someone else had read it and the characters names were not Andy and Lori. I couldn't get totally past that .

“Lady Hawksworth, your husband is not dead.” With those words, Lara’s life turned upside down. Hunter, Earl of Hawksworth, had been lost at sea. Or so she’d been told. Their unhappy marriage - with its cold caresses and passionless kisses – was over. But now a powerful, virile man stood before her, telling secrets only a husband could know, and vowing she would once again be his wife in every way.

I have to agree with Carrie from NC. the main character is annoying and after a while I just wanted to her to be nice to ol' Hunter and randy up like all the other romance herione's do. Poor ol' Hunter!!! But the "romance" scenes made me laugh out loud and on the whole I thought the book was fine given what it is. Not the best, but good and a fun listen for a long car ride.
I would have liked poor ol henpecked Hunter to have had a better voice too. He just couldn't get a break in this novel. Maybe she'll do a sequel and poor ol' Hunter can find a better wife and a stronger voice.

Alexander McCall Smith’s No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency series has become a worldwide phenomenon thanks to the appeal of endearing protagonist Precious Ramotswe and the author’s charmingly quirky prose. In this 13th installment, Mma Ramotswe’s attention is focused on a pesky disciplinary problem at her adopted daughter’s school - while Grace Makutsi adjusts to wedded bliss and the famed Clovis Andersen arrives in Botswana looking for more than bush tea.

This one is not quite as good as the others. I love listening to Lisette Lecat. She has a wonderful voice and she is so good at bringing the characters in this series to life.
I think what I missed in this book is the time out then the author tells us about Africa and how beautiful it is. There really wasn't that moment in this book and I missed it.
The story was ok and the characters wonderful and that means alot.

The reader was good . The story was ok but nothing really stood out. I never wanted to drive around the block hear more. Maybe I'm just an adventure and action type of reader but I didn't feel like this went anywhere and I didnt' quite get the point. Maybe I need to see this picture in person or maybe I need to be dutch or a fan of Vemeer. I dunno...... Its worth a listen if the other choice is Mody Dick I suppose.

New York Times best-selling author James Lee Burke's Dave Robicheaux novels began with this first hard-hitting entry in the series. In The Neon Rain, Detective Robicheaux fishes a prostitute's corpse from a New Orleans bayou and finds that no one, not even the law, cares about a dead hooker.

The reader was really good which is probably why I kept listening. The story for me was depressing and the plot didn't make a whole lot of sense.
I felt like there were too many characters that weren't explained and there were things that happened that didn't really fit in the story line . I felt like a couple of characters and plot twists could have been left out and a couple others better developed and it would have been a better listen. But the reader was really good I thought .
