"I, Robot" is really the first of Asimov's robot books, but this one is the first novel, so it is really Number 1 and 2. I came to know Elijah Bailey like a good friend, and his partner R. Dannel Olivaw has enough character to shown him more than just a robot. Come join their first adventure together! See Elijah battling prejudice, which could be likened to all prejudices that society needs to overcome. At the same time, we see what a good friendship can mean and give to us.
After hearing my first Hornblower auido book narrated by Nicolas Coster, I knew that I had to hear more. I discovered the C. S. Forester wrote 11 books in the series. I tried the first after hearing that Gene Roddenberry modeled his Captain Kirk on Hornblower. I've been able to get three unabridged Hornblowers by Coster, and I'm on the search for more. Meanwhile I bought all the paperback versions so read when I can't listen. I recommend both Hornblower and Coster wholeheartedly!
I really enjoyed this audio version of one of my favorite Robert Heinlein books. It is one that I will listen to over and over again. I enjoyed the story and the narration, and I recommend it to all.
What a treat to find a sequel to "The Caves of Steel" and to hear again from Elijah and Daneel! Here is another mystery for them to solve, which leaves me baffled, but luckily for all the partners are hard at work. The narration fit the story, and the story was wonderful! I recommend this book wholeheartedly!
I've long loved this book, but having it read by Ray Bradbury makes it very special. I didn't realize when I purchased it that he would also be commenting on the chapers as he went along, and I REALLY loved hearing his thoughts and remembrances. Every story is a gem by itself, but the weaving of them into "The Martian Chronicles" is magic. Long live Ray Bradbury!
This book has always been fun, and I now enjoy it as an audio book. We see a young man grow to adulthood with some rough experiences but being all together a better person for those experiences. This is a wonderful young person's book, but is great for adults too. Heinlein again makes magic! I love the characters and how the action keeps moving. Our next step in outer space is colonization, and Heinlein gives us a taste of that here.
I enjoyed reading this book and now enjoy it in as an audio book. It is great to see Heinlein's juveniles coming to Audible! The narration was perfect for the subject. I love Podkayne and her adventures and love sharing her world. This audio book brings me right into her experiences. I heartedly recommend this read!
I read this book to my kids when they were young and was delighted to find it at Audible. As I listen, I remember those wonderful days when I read aloud to my kids and how much fun and laughter this book brought us. Now I have it in audio and can play it in the car when I take the grandkids on an outing. They love it too. It is as great as ever. It's so much fun again!!
As I listened to "Hatchet" I thought that Brian just barely survived then I listened to "Brian's Winter," and I couldn't believe all the great lessons in dealing with nature in winter as well as life's problems and our own attitudes. This series gives many life lessons that I'll keep with me always. I loved the story and the narration and heartedly recommend this wonderful audio book.
This is a story for all ages and definitely a must for anyone who enjoys nature and survival. It is good for the kids and the grandkids, and great for me too! This aduible version is wonderful with Peter Coyote's narration!
