It’s not even a clue. It’s a whisper, a trace, a ghost echo, drifting down through the decades via chance connections so fragile that they would disintegrate in the puff of a breath. But it’s enough to get legendary former Marine sniper Bob Lee Swagger interested in the events of November 22, 1963, and the third bullet that so decisively ended the life of John F. Kennedy and set the stage for one of the most enduring controversies of our time. Swagger begins his slow night stalk through a much-traveled landscape. But he’s asking questions that few have asked before....

What disappointed you about The Third Bullet?

    Story was tired and boring.

What was most disappointing about Stephen Hunter’s story?

I love Bob Lee and have always enjoyed his saga. He is definitely lost his edge and it is time to retire the character. Kennedy assissination again! Really!

How could the performance have been better?

Definitely. The reader seemed bored with the story.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Third Bullet?

I would have scrapped the story.

General George S. Patton, Jr., died under mysterious circumstances in the months following the end of World War II. For almost 70 years, there has been suspicion that his death was not an accident - and may very well have been an act of assassination. Killing Patton will take listeners inside the final year of the war and recount the events surrounding Patton's tragic demise, naming names of the many powerful individuals who wanted him silenced.

What disappointed you about Killing Patton?

Not enough about George Patton and what made him a great general. Too confusing and skipping around.

What could Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Bill O'Reilly should not narrate his books.

What didn’t you like about Bill O'Reilly’s performance?

He doesn't pronounce his words and seems to rushed. I can actually hear his breathing which is a major distraction.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    Not really.

Happily retired in the village of Three Pines, Armand Gamache, former Chief Inspector of Homicide with the Sûreté du Québec, has found a peace he'd only imagined possible. On warm summer mornings he sits on a bench holding a small book, The Balm in Gilead, in his large hands. "There is a balm in Gilead," his neighbor Clara Morrow reads from the dust jacket, "to make the wounded whole." While Gamache doesn't talk about his wounds and his balm, Clara tells him about hers. Peter, her artist husband, has failed to come home. Failed to show up as promised on the first anniversary of their separation. She wants Gamache's help to find him. Having finally found sanctuary, Gamache feels a near revulsion at the thought of leaving Three Pines. "There’s power enough in Heaven," he finishes the quote as he contemplates the quiet village, "to cure a sin-sick soul." And then he gets up. And joins her.

If you could sum up The Long Way Home in three words, what would they be?

    Touching, Poetic, Delicious

What did you like best about this story?

Always kept me guessing. Unpredictable in a good way. This author is something to be experienced.

What does Ralph Cosham bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He is my favorite reader because he is so understated. He brings Gamache to life and his voice and diction is superb.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The conversations between Gamache and Ruth are always touching and funny.

Supreme Justice by Max Allan Collins.

Would you be willing to try another one of Anne Marie Lee’s performances?

    No,

One afternoon, Commissario Guido Brunetti gets a frantic call from the director of a prestigious Venetian library. Someone has stolen pages out of several rare books. After a round of questioning, the case seems clear: The culprit must be the man who requested the volumes, an American professor from a Kansas university. The only problem-- the man fled the library earlier that day, and after checking his credentials, the American professor doesn't exist.

What disappointed you about By Its Cover?

Story was so boring and I couldn't follow it. I just read it and can't even remember what it was about. She used to write such great mysteries but her last 3 have missed the mark for me.

Would you ever listen to anything by Donna Leon again?

    No

Would you be willing to try another one of David Colacci’s performances?

    I like his performances.

What character would you cut from By Its Cover?

    None

    Any additional comments?

Go back to what made her books to popular. The interactions between her characters. A lot less pontificating about today's society and more compelling stories.

From Mark Bowden, internationally best-selling and acclaimed author of Black Hawk Down and the preeminent chronicler of the actions of our military and special forces writing today, comes an intensely gripping account of the hunt for and elimination of Osama bin Laden. With unprecedented access to key sources and his great gift for storytelling, Bowden takes us inside the rooms where decisions were made and on the ground where the action unfolded.

Would you ever listen to anything by Mark Bowden again?

Very disappointing. I found Black Hawk down far more compelling.

Would you be willing to try another one of James Lurie’s performances?

Absolutely not....I had the volume turned up and still couldn't hear him clearly. What was the need to whisper.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Not really, thought No Easy Day was very interesting and compelling.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

    No one

What was most disappointing about M. William Phelps’s story?

This would have been a good story, but it was all over the place in description of events and characters.

Would you be willing to try another one of J. Charles’s performances?

I have tried several of his performances. He is monotone.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Lethal Guardian?

I would have assembled the entire book differently.
