This newest volume in Oxford's acclaimed Pivotal Moments series offers an unforgettable portrait of the Nez Perce War of 1877, the last great Indian conflict in American history. It was, as Elliott West shows, a tale of courage and ingenuity, of desperate struggle and shattered hope, of short-sighted government action and a doomed flight to freedom.

What disappointed you about The Last Indian War: The Nez Perce Story?

tryed twice but could not get thru the first hour. The narrator was just not right for this book, sounds like a great book but I will have to read it !

Would you ever listen to anything by Elliott West again?

    Only with a diferent narrator.

    What didn’t you like about B. J. Harrison’s performance?

He was not right for this book, his voice and accent was not for a western history.

What character would you cut from The Last Indian War: The Nez Perce Story?

    B.J. Harrison

    Any additional comments?

    Sounds like a great book.

In Oh What a Slaughter, Larry McMurtry has written a unique, brilliant, and searing history of the bloody massacres that marked, and marred, the settling of the American West in the 19th century, and which still provoke immense controversy today.

Would you try another book from Larry McMurtry and/or Michael Prichard?

    No !

What do you think your next listen will be?

    ?

What didn’t you like about Michael Prichard’s performance?

Terrible voice for this kind of book ! I could barely make it thru the book.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    No, I was disappointed.

    Any additional comments?

I feel books about the west and frontier life should be read by someone who sounds like he could have been there. Just my opinion !
