I was kinda disappointed in this book. I love Jennifer Weiner but this one was not nearly as good as some of her other books. There were some pretty funny momments but over all it missed the mark.

Clare Cosi used to manage the historic Village Blend coffeehouse…until she opted for quieter pastures and a more suburban life. But after ten years and a little friendly cajoling from the owner (a fresh pot of Jamaican Blue Mountain was all it took), she's back to the grind. With a sprawling rent-free apartment directly above the Village Blend, her cat Java by her side, and plenty of coffeehouse redecorating ideas, Clare is thrilled to return to work. Until she discovers the assistant manager unconscious in the back of the store, coffee grounds strewn everywhere.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I listen during my 1 hour commute home. It was lighthearted and enjoyable.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I like the coffee tips and wish I wasn't driving so I could write them down.

    Any additional comments?

Overall it was ok. Not my favorite cozy mystery series but not bad.

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

Would you try another book from Gillian Flynn and/or Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne ?

Not a Gillian Flynn book but I thought narrators did a good job

What could Gillian Flynn have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I wish the ending felt more resolved.

Which character – as performed by Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne – was your favorite?

None of the character were very likeable. It was hard to connect with any of them so I ended up not caring what happened to them.

    Any additional comments?

The author swears alot. I'm not particularly opposed to swearing but it was done so much I found it distracting. The author also beings portaying the character in a poor light so early on that you never get a chance to like them or feel for them. They seems sad, pathetic, miserable and deserving of everything that happens to them. I also didn't like them ending. There should be closure, instead things are left lingering. Thea author spent alot of time on the details which I appreciated. Alot of mysteries just pull clues our of nowhere.
