This is the story of Margaret Hale, a young English woman who accompanies her family's move from rural southern England to the industrial north. It proves to be a difficult change, with all the attendant social conflicts and cultural misunderstandings consequent to such situations. It is a study in contrasts. Mrs. Gaskell created one of the Victorian era's greatest heroines in Margaret Hale, a young lady of passionate intensity.

Where does Emory's Gift rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is hard to find a family story that is entertaining, engaging and has a nice moral.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Emory's Gift?

I liked the friendship between father and son when the bears discovery brings on unwanted problems.

Have you listened to any of W. Bruce Cameron’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    He did a good job.

If you could rename Emory's Gift, what would you call it?

    Emorys Healing Power.

The Secret by New York Times best-selling author Beverly Lewis is a compelling portrait of an Amish family's struggle to overcome the effects of a baffling secret. Soon-tobe-engaged Grace Byler is perplexed by her mom's nocturnal weeping and wandering - and her dad's refusal to discuss what's wrong. But when her mom runs off, Grace puts her own life on hold to pick up the pieces her mother left behind.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I purchase a book to finish at least part of the story--this was like a soap with NO answers.Just a teaser to buy more books....I will not be purchasing her books again. $60 to read one story and get it finished.

What was most disappointing about Beverly Lewis’s story?

Did not fill in one blank. Not one story line was completed! I feel she was looking to make lots of money and just devided one book into thirds.

What about Rachel Botchan’s performance did you like?

She did a nice job and I found her voice easy to listen to.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    NONE

    Any additional comments?

These three should be sold as one....that is how I feel I have been cheated. I have read other series that move on to different stories, but they finish the first leg of the story and then move on. She opened 3 stories and did not finish even one.

In the best-selling tradition of Rescuing Sprite comes the story of a puppy brought back from the brink of death, and the family he adopted. Heartwarming and redemptive, Oogy is the story of the people who were determined to rescue this dog against all odds, and of the family who took him home, named him "Oogy" (an affectionate derivative of ugly), and made him one of their own.

    SomervilleWhereElse says: "Lovely story"
    "Great Love Story"

This is one of the best pet stories I have listened to. It is triumph orver cruelity, acceptance and even love for a family that adopts childeren and pets. I was glad that it had such a positive ending because it was not sad. I laughed and I cried, but ultimately I wish I could have gotten to know Oogy.

In 1989 Ken Follett astonished the literary world with The Pillars of the Earth, set in 12th-century England. Readers and listeners ever since have hoped for a sequel. At last, here it is. Although the two novels may be listened to in any order, World Without End also takes place in Kingsbridge, two centuries after the townspeople finished building their exquisite Gothic cathedral. The cathedral is again at the center of a web of love and hate, greed and pride, ambition and revenge.

This book caused me to loose sleep. I could not The time period, the political issues, and the health issues were intertwined. I just kept on listening until I found out what had happened next. I had not preconcieved ideas so I was suprised how much I was drawn in to the plot.
Thank you Ken Follet and the Reader. You both did a great job.

Identical twin boys Zeke and Zach wanted only one gift from Santa this year: a new mom! But convincing their love-wary dad that their music teacher, Miss Davis, was his destiny and part of Santa's plan wasn't as easy as they'd hoped.

I was looking for entertainment, but this book proved to be predictable and in my opinion not worth my time or money. I wish it had some twists and turns, but I knew from the first chapter what the end would be. Nora disappointed me.
