A woman has vanished while digging a dinosaur bone bed in the remote wilderness of Canada. Somehow, the only evidence has made its way to the inbox of Chief Medical Examiner Kay Scarpetta, over 2,000 miles away, in Boston. She has no idea why. But as events unfold with alarming speed, Scarpetta begins to suspect that the paleontologist's disappearance is connected to a series of crimes - much closer to home: a gruesome murder, inexplicable tortures, and trace evidence from the last living creatures of the dinosaur age.

Would you try another book from Patricia Cornwell and/or Kate Reading?

I usually don't read reviews on books. I find out for myself. How ever I will only read Cornwell books/listen if I see and excellent review. I don't ever have a problem with Kate Reading.

What was most disappointing about Patricia Cornwell’s story?

It was more about disfunction with the characters than the store of a crime.

Have you listened to any of Kate Reading’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    She is a good reader.

What character would you cut from The Bone Bed?

They all are having break up type issues. This book is more about relationship problems than the story line of crime.

    Any additional comments?

Very sad that Cornwell has lost the focus of her books which are the crimes.

After working one of the worst mass killings in U.S. history, Scarpetta returns home to Cambridge, Massachusetts. Exhausted and ill, she's recovering at home when she receives an unsettling call. The body of a young woman has been discovered on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's rugby field. The victim, a graduate student named Gail Shipman, is oddly draped in ivory linen and posed in a way that is too deliberate to be the killer's first strike.

    What disappointed you about Dust?

Cornwell books were more about the job in past books, rather than the constant problems of it's characters. 80% problems of the characters 20% about solving the crime and this was done like an after thought.

Would you ever listen to anything by Patricia Cornwell again?

    ?

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Total disappointment

    Any additional comments?

I don't like reading about total dysfunction. This book was not about murders or the crimes.
