James Allen's From Poverty to Power (1901) and As a Man Thinketh (1902) stand as seminal texts in the self-help genre that have served as sources of inspiration since their publication at the beginning of the 20th century. Loosely based in its principles around the Biblical proverb "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he," As a Man Thinketh asserts the powerful idea that belief is central to bringing about positive events in one's life.

If you could sum up As a Man Thinketh and From Poverty to Power in three words, what would they be?

The narrator seemed to be racing to finish reading this great book. Unlistenable.

You can go after the job you want...and get it! You can take the job you have...and improve it! You can take any situation you're in...and make it work for you!

"Love this Book hate the narrator's voice"
    Overall

This book is classic unfortunately the narrator's voice is hard to deal with. He is wooden and monotone and he should be doing movie trailer voice overs. I have read this book and loved it but not sure I will ever listen to audio version again. I do not recommend this version..
