I might recommend the series but not the book. When a book has a weak storyline just repeat platitudes and add more sex scenes.
No. I love this genre.
I have no problem with the performance.
This is not like any vampire story that I have ever read. Because of that I don't love it but the developing storyline is intriguing.
This is not a happy book and the "romance" is rated G for the "young adult" audience. That is neither good nor bad, but I am normally not a fan of YA books.
Any scenes with Kanin.
This book rocked. You really do have to have read the previous 2 books in order to keep up. The investigation was interesting and nail biting. I really liked the unexpected twists at the end.CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK!
I really liked Paul & Bryce as a unit because they add a new dimension to the storyline and they help the other characters to change as they needed to.
I enjoy her different voices and the fact that she is "acting" rather than simply reading the lines.
I didn't really have a particular reaction but I went through the rollercoaster ride of the emotions of all of the characters.
I would absolutely recommend this book with the caveat that you MUST HAVE READ ALL OF THE BOOKS SINCE THE SECOND. If have not read those other books then you will be lost.
Nail-Biting Suspense with Action & Soul
I enjoyed the mystery part of the story and how Hunter wove 3 different problems and laid out the developments in a way where I didn't get the whole picture until the end. Once again she has also set up a new plot for the next book(s) and she is helping Jane to continue to grow as a person.
My choice would have to be Jane because the character runs the gambit in emotions and Hvam does a fantastic job giving a realistic performance expressing all of those feelings.
I usually want to read a book first and if I like it enough, then I buy the audiobook.
Except for this series.
THIS IS ONE OF THE FEW SERIES THAT I BUY THE AUDIO INSTEAD OF THE BOOK....It is that GOOD!
In all of the WTZ books I really enjoy how Angel's character changes and grows.
Plus, she can KICK ASS!
I love Angel's accent and mannerisms. McLemore does a wonderful and realistic version of a poor educated Southern hick.
The whole situation with the flood and the aftermath. That series of scenes shows a lot of strength in Angel, her father and OMG, Nick.
Everyone's character got a boost with that scene.
ONE OF MY FAVORITE SERIES!
WHO NEEDS TO READ THE BOOK? GREAT AUDIO!
I don't think so. This was a series that I was interested in trying, but I found the lack of a plot, drama or a crisis makes the story...LAZY.
As I was following story's slow storyline I started to ask, "Hey, Is she going to hook up with the guy, is this the plot?" The love connection in the story isn't even a motivating force for the main character.
I USE THIS BOOK TO PUT ME ASLEEP AT NIGHT!
This was my first and last.
Any scene with the kid.
Goodness I hope not. It would be cancelled after the second episode.
EVANOVICH ROMANCES tend to be simple, slow and predictable. This is how Geary's book compares except most of Evanovich's romances are better!
I think someone who likes nothing but sex scenes with little or no plot and poor character development would find this book to be the BOMB.
Erotica books are ok, but I need a story to follow. In general, this is not my favorite genre.
This is the first time that I have listened to her and liked her voice. I am not crazy with joy with the male voices, but they are just fine.
This book was enjoyable enough that I have listened to it 3 times so far. This is difficult to answer considering I have over 100 books.
I liked how the author combined 3 different storylines into one cohesive mix.
My favorite scenes included Lacey, Ethan and Merrit.
No. The book was evenly enjoyable.
Previous reviews complained about the new narrator. I found her performance to be just fine with the exception that the male voices could be more distinguishable. Since I have listened to this book more than once, the male voices have grown on me. Eastlake does a better job of acting than the previous narrator and she at least can pronounce words correctly.
I like how the author mixes hick lifestyle with interesting police procedural details.
Angel of course. Her character is so complex and is constantly changing in a logical manner.
This was my first time. She did a fantastic job with the different voices and mastering the "local color".
I found the overall language and one-liners to be hilarious.
If you want a fun departure from the everyday urban fantasy, this book and this author would be an EXCELLENT choice.
Hvam does an excellent job with the voices and the performance. But of course you have to have a good story to begin with. Faith Hunter does a wonderful job of shaking up the storyline to add some new life to the series.
I can't think of another series that is quite like this one. Others that also have a complex universe and characters might be "The Hollows" and "Kate Daniels" series. I rarely read individual books.
I have listened to one other performance, (don't ask which one), and I enjoy her performance with Jane Yellowrock much better.
Have Stakes Will Travel
I don't understand Rick's attitude at the end. I also don't understand fully his attitude about having to stay away from her. Yes, for now, he has to stay celibate. But by choosing to stay away from Jane he is not only going to be celibate but also have no loving relationship either. Rick's attitudes and choices are overall somewhat confusing. That must be and intentional flaw that will later be explored.
