It keeps going and going and going. This is one of the first Scott Brick narrations that I couldn't wait to end. I made it through but I felt like saying to the author, "ENOUGH already." Too many murders, too many subplots. I can handle a good mystery but this was too much to take. My advice: skip it.
It is great to see a new arrival from Mike Lawson on Audible. In this story, DeMarco is faced with a twisted conspiracy to sort out. The plot gets a little confusing at times, but the story is well written, the characters are multi dimensional and the ending is satisfying. The narrarator balances his voice between female, male, American and foreign accents. I enjoyed this listen and hope to see more by this author available soon!
This book rivals "The Company" for my all time favorite audiobook. I loved the main characters and the narrator was terrific!
I wish I had and not wasted a credit on this book. I love intelligent, witty and suspenseful books. This looked as if it may fit the bill. It doesn't, not even close. The other reviews warned the characters are not interesting, the action is slow and the narraration (sorry Scott Brick) is tedious. I believe someone compared his reading to William Shatner....I wished I took the advice of others and skipped this clunker.
I just can't seem to delete this one from my ipod. I go back to different parts just for a good laugh during the day.
This is one of the books I am recommending to all of my friends, church goers and athiests alike. It is well written and clever.
Pick this one up, You won't regret it!
One of the most frustrating things about this story is the reader. I can hear every slurp, sniffle and gasp and it really takes away from the story itself. I enjoyed the story but I would caution any listener that is sensitive to pronunciation, timing, and throat noises, pick up something else. It makes me wonder if anyone checked this piece for sound quality before releasing.
I waited anxiously for the next DeMille installment. I really enjoyed Lion's Game and was suprisingly satisfied with NightFall. This story, however, dragged and droned until I couldn't wait for it to be over. I wanted this story to explode with all the promise of a first rate thriller, but it seemed DeMille played it very safe and easy. The story never got off the ground, the characters were likable at first then got annoying. The puns and explitives were overused. Overall, a big disappointment to me as a DeMille fan.
Better than the Inside Line (but I enjoyed that one too). Great story, plot, dialogue. Highly recommended.
I usually buy my books with the credits on my account, but I didn't have any left for this book. This one was well worth every penny. I learned about events that were given one paragraph in my history book. The characters seem to come alive with the narrator's skill. Don't miss this book!!
