Always reliable. That's how I view John Grisham's books. I needed a book that would carry me through at least 6 hours of mindless work. I had 15 minutes to download so I picked this new release knowing it would be a sure thing. I've never been disapointed.
I am a huge fan of Ken Follet and read all of his books. I expected to be drawn in to the story like I was with Pillars of the Earth, but instead I felt the character development seemed superficial and the events of the times were more like bullet points. I would gladly have bought two books if he would have spent more time developing the characters and events. I was continuously comparing this read with Herman Wouk's Winds of War and War and Remembrance and felt like it came in a distant second place.
