NAMASTE
"Fun From Start To Finish"
If you like vampire and werewolf romance, you will love this. This book is an original ... taking place in Australia, with guardians, strange creatures and lots (and LOTS) of moon lust!
Reilly is cooler than Anita Blake any day.
I listened to this book every free moment and even did my longest run (EVER) while listening to this great story. I'm off to the bookstore tonight to get more of this author -- too bad audible doesn't carry more of her titles.
"Lots of Fun"
This is an incredibly fun romp. Jersey girl goes to Alaska to find a husband with her overweight dog. Ends up meeting the man of her dreams. However, needs to live in cabin with an outhouse to prove it.
This is a light, laugh a minute story that will leave cars next to you wondering what you're smiling about.
Strongly recommended to all Evanowich fans. This is BY FAR the best of her earlier works. It has the same witty dialog that makes her current books so popular.
"Buy the Book -- Skip the Audio"
When I buy an audiobook, I expect to have the same information as in the book. This 'audio book' was really more of commercial for the real book.
Here is what you get:
- 60 minutes of why this is better than other diets
- 60 minutes of short motivational messages that you are supposed to listen to in 2-3 minute installments over the next 28 days
- 30 minutes of user testomonials.
Sure you learn that you need to eat every 3 hours ... but you need to buy the book to find out what and how much you can eat.
I gave it 2 stars because it was motivational ... but sadly disappointing due to fact that the substance of the book is missing. Got to say I feel a bit conned.
Save your money ... go straight to book and skip this audio.
"Some Information"
Shiva is excellent for ashtanga pratitioners who want to add a bit of variety.
This contains two full practices - a morning energizing routine and an night time relaxing routine. You can also do specific sections when you have limited time.
The morning practice has really helped me as I have always struggled with backbends. Also, the Kirtan at the end is very uplifting. The lunar workout is much easier and a wonderful combination of yoga and meditation. It is probably best to actually try the lunar practice first as the morning routine is quite challenging. I travel alot and enjoy doing the "Lunar Yoga" and "Heart Meditation" on planes. It is the only yoga that I found that you can do in your seat.
Below is the timing to help you find navigate the audible file. The first number is the length of the section. The second is the time that it begins on the tape.

"Too Sweet for Me"
Our heroine lost her parents, husband, baby ... and that is just the first 3 minutes ... we haven't even got to the SAD part yet. Hmm, maybe there is a reason why the author wrote the "review" instead of Publisher's Weekly.
I would expect that unless you really like a tear jerker, this book might be too sweet for you. It is a big change from his usual writing style. I'D STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOU LISTEN TO THE SAMPLE BEFORE YOU BUY TO SEE IF YOU LIKE THE TONE. Please keep in mind that the music will follow you from start to end.
In any case, I gave the book 3 stars:
1. Even at James' worst, he is still darn good
2. It is a nice message of hope and the power of love
3. At 4+ hours at least he doesn't take too long
"SO MUCH FUN"
My first book with this author, but it is easy to see why her books are all best sellers. I laughed so hard listening to this hillarious book. Who would have thought that a few little secrets could weave such a tale.
I listen to books while on the treadmill and put in extra hours each day because I could not bear to turn it off. A must listen for anyone who enjoys a good laugh.
"Fun ... but not deep"
This was a fun listen ... lots of action with a great love story. Alex is a character of substance and Jud is the stuff fanasies are made of. A quick book if you are not looking for anything deep. My only regret is that I didn't get the unabridged version.
"Worth a listen for any parent"
This story covers paints an ugly picture of the New York elite, who would rather spend time trying on Prada shoes than loving and raising their children. The heroine works hard at building a little boy's self worth while putting herself through graduate school.
The story tends to be funny and fast moving. It is hard not to fall in love with both Nanny and Grover.
However, it was difficult for me to get beyond underlying premise of parents not caring about their children -- is just too sad to imagine. Clearly a very one side view of the world written from the Nanny's perspective.
Julia Roberts does a nice job reading it. Although at times I did find it difficult to keep up with her fast pace.
"A Great Book"
Pat Conroy never disappoints ... but Beach Music has to be one of his absolute best. The story captures you from the first page traveling seamlessly back and forth in time. It is not until the very end that all of the pieces magically fit in place.
Like all Conroy books, this one deals with serious issues. But what set them apart is the humor that he brings to each situation. I simply could not put this book down.
Peter McNicol's audio was perfect. I should not have been surprised given his talent on Ally McBeil. I would listen to any future book that he records.
