It took me halfway through this book to really get interested. It was a bit gruesome but some people like that kind of stuff.
Pleasant, unwavering, British
perhaps a dull movie
How to actually wrote purposefully in a journal.
Ask and you shall receive.
I wish there was a supplemental book that I could purchase without purchasing the book. Or maybe provide a secret online supplement.
I kept waiting for it to mature but I give up - it's not going to happen!
Yes if I knew what the genre was.
performance was okay, it's more the story that I'm disillusioned with.
Learning how a teen deals with grief.
The teen due to his battles and conquests during the hard teen years.
I was pleasantly surprised when the first character's reading changed over to a teen boy's reading! It made the story more interesting rather than listening to an overweight adult moaning about his life. I am hopeful for a part two of "Heft."
The uniqueness of the story.
The weekend before the death occurred. It was very relaxed as two old friends got together one last time.
A story so bizarre only John Irving could dream it up!
I misunderstood some parts of the book due to the long-windedness of the writing. But it was quite visual which I enjoyed.
I have recommended this to someone who has leukemia.
Anna - the 13 year old in the story. She is so strong.
Probably the one with the dog, Judge, when his owner is about to have a seizure.
Anna because I love the precociousness of teens.
The ending really fooled me. Sad, bittersweet but provided comfort in the last sentences. Thank you for that Jodi.
I don't know.
The story/history of such a well known lady.
Very clear voice.
Highly recommended if you like this time period.
Yes because it is a story of hope.
Describe what caused most of the people to die. Make it a bit clearer who was speaking.
The reader's voice was unique which I liked, very friendly. Confusion of who was who.
The small child telling his story.
the suspense to find out he succeeds in breaking free!
The attention this book received when it first came deserves every bit of it! Very good story.
No! This book dragged on for way too long. I kept hoping the Townsend would give me some reason to like him but it never happened. Perhaps if someone else had narrated, I would have liked him better.
Ho-hum, dull, so-so
I suppose if you're a huge Who fan, then you'll appreciate this book more than I. I wanted to learn more about Townsend and the band but instead I ended up not liking him as a person at all. Spoiled, cheating, arrogant rock star!
